MESSAGE FROM THE CEO, Kevin Drumheller
Dear Friends and Supporters,
September is a time for new beginnings, often associated with transition and change. As we embrace the changing season, we are reminded of the importance of community, connection, and empowerment.
I am excited to welcome you to our latest newsletter. This month, our theme is "Moving," and it holds special significance for us as moving encompasses growth, progress, and the journey toward independence. This month you will read how we are moving offices, moving mountains, and moving and shaking with our community partners.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our mission. Together, we can ensure that our community moves forward, breaking barriers and building a brighter future. Let’s keep the momentum going!
All my best,

We are grateful and honored to have received the 2024 Moving Mountains Award from ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources, along with the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals - NADSP and presented by the Institute on Community Integration - University of Minnesota. The purpose of this award is to recognize organizations using leading practices in direct support workforce development that result in improved outcomes for people being supported in their communities.

Richcroft Celebrates Direct Support Professionals Week 2024!
Richcroft's staff were honored during National Direct Support Professionals (DSP) Week, which was held from September 8 - 14. Although this is the official week set aside each year to recognize DSP's nationally, Richcroft's DSP's are the heart and soul of our agency and we want our team to know how much we appreciate them every day of the year!
Throughout this special week, we honored our DSP's for their hard work and dedication to the people we support by surprising them with small tokens of our love and appreciation. This included personal videos from staff, swag bags filled with goodies and daily raffle prizes.
The grand prize winner received a week's vacation in Ocean City, MD, donated by our CEO, Kevin! That is true servant leadership in action!
Thank you Richcroft DSP's for helping
the people we support and serve
move mountains!

Advocacy Group Celebrates Voting Rights Week!
As part of Disability Voting Rights Week, our AACES (Advocates for Action, Community, Education, and Support) group met to discuss the importance of voting as a powerful act of self-determination and advocacy, as well as a way to fulfill their civic responsibility as citizens. They also discussed voting rights, including accommodations that can be made so that voting is accessible to everyone. Each member walked away with a personal voting plan for exercising their right to vote.
A large focus of our advocacy group is providing mutual support to one another and creating a sense of belonging, and there is no better way to do that than through shared meals. MISSION BBQ graciously donated dinner meals for the entire group for this meeting, which was met with much excitement by all of the attendees!! A special thank you to MISSION BBQ- Hunt Valley, especially Lauren Small, Catering Servant Heart Leader, for delivering the food to us and for the delicious meal we all shared together!!

Richcroft Nursing Program
On the Move!
| |
Richcroft has been given the great pleasure of providing
Towson University public health nursing seniors a clinical experience in Richcroft's residential homes.
As part of their clinical rotation, over 50 Towson students will be spending "A Day in the Life" of a delegating nurse at Richcroft to learn about the skills needed, the challenges and the rewards of working with people in the disability community.
The students are seniors at Towson, and will graduate this December with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a focus in public health. Richcroft's Director of Nursing, Dr. Claudia Moon states, "It is not only exciting, but a rewarding experience to be able to provide these future nurses with a look into the amazing nursing services Richcroft provides."
