Crossroads Arts Council Board Election

During our Annual Meeting on Thursday May 4th at 6 pm, all current members will be able to vote to approve our new board candidates.

Meet our candidates:

Kerry Kirkland: I'm especially committed to helping adults connect with art just as I have recently done.

Laurie Sirtak: I look forward to the opportunity to join the Board as we continue our long range plans to engage members and develop exciting new initiatives that bring art into our community.

Rhonda Schrum:Term renewal: I am honored to be considered for re-election to the board. I have enjoyed serving the last three years with special interest in education, hospitality and membership meetings. I enjoy helping guide the direction the Arts Council is taking as it grows and integrates into the community.

May Main and West
Gallery Show to honor
Keith Henderson
More information coming soon.
This gallery show will feature the artwork of Keith Henderson, artist of our 3rd historical mural entitled "Tobacco Fields". His mural was originally placed on the MFA building at the corner of W. Main and Church St. and portrayed a time in the mid 1800's showing fields of tobacco in the background. That building has now been removed, but his mural lives on in a new location to be announced at a later date.

Reception: Sun. May 7th 2-4pm

Annual Community Event
Our 2023 community "STARS" include community church leaders. CAC member Linda Wilmes will be leading our stars as they paint a historic scene of
Ellbee's General Store. This building is one of the remaining buildings of Wentzville's industrial downtown area.

"As you step into Ellbee’s old brick store, you’ll be transported to a simpler time, when soda and candy shops were the place for families to enjoy each other and have a sweet treat."
This year's event will be held in the new "Gathering Spot" created by the owner's of Ellbee's. Picnic tables available and a delicious FOOD TRUCK will be open.

Time to rev up your creative engine.
“Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle”….our August gallery show will be here soon!
We encourage all artists to think outside the box to create unique pieces from everyday items.

-Tired of those half-finished canvases…turn them into a unique collage.
- How about and old sweater….it magically transforms into a felted masterpiece.
- Got some wood scraps and old frames…think dimensional sculpture.
- And those bunches of colorful plastic shopping bags…can you say great weaving material?

Mix everyday items to create innovative, original and surprising new creations…nothing is wasted, and the old and discarded is made wonderful and new again!
For more inspiration, our Facebook page will periodically post recycled art ideas.
