Thanksgiving Dinner
For those who have signed up ... Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held at 1 pm in the Parish Hall. Turkey and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided. Parishioners are asked to bring side dishes and desserts. Please note: the signup is now closed.
We invite you to join the clean up crew. Look for Steve and Mo Connell who will be providing training in the kitchen area. Many hands make light work, and pitching in after dinner makes for a pleasant time for all!

Candlelight Remembrance Service
Please come to a Candlelight Remembrance Service on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 5:30 pm. All who have experienced loss in the past months, or even years, are invited to join us. We will light candles and remember our loved ones in prayer, music and reflection. There will be a register at the entrance where you may record the names of the people that you would like remembered during the service. Bring your friends and family, all are welcome. Please help us spread the word by sharing this invitation with your neighbors!

Common Table Holiday Gathering
To anyone currently involved in a Common Table small group or anyone who would like to be involved in the next round, please come to a Potluck on Tues., Dec. 13th at 5:30 pm. We will celebrate our new-found fellowship and start planning the next round of Common Tables for 2023!
What is Common Table, you ask? Common Table is St. Augustine's answer to small group fellowship. Common Table groups of 6 - 8 persons are randomly formed and plans made for monthly meetings at members' homes, local restaurants or other fun venues. Groups meet for 5-6 months, and then new groups are created. Come join in on the fellowship! Questions? Contact: Karen Monaco

Sunday School
St. Augustine's Sunday School meets on all but the first Sunday of the month, during the 10 am service. Children in Kindergarten through 6th grade gather in our classrooms down past the Old Parish Hall, in the education wing of the church. On the first Sunday of the month, kids (who are willing and trained) may serve on the altar, and eventually as readers, ushers, etc. If you have kids, grandkids, neighbors, or anyone that might be interested in Sunday School, please call or text ministry leader Linda Jones at 772.538.9826. If they would like to help serve on the 1st Sunday, please contact Fr. Wes.

The King is Coming:
Advent Devotional for Children
Our Sunday School children will be reading, "The King Is Coming," a four-week Advent devotional especially written with a child's heart in mind. It takes families through the salvation story by focusing on who God is, the gift of Jesus, and the importance of celebrating and sharing that miraculous gift! Grandparents may be interested in ordering a copy online for their little ones this Advent season.

Sunday Adult Christian Education
Be sure to join us for our Sunday morning Christian education programs at 9-9:45 am in the Library. This week's class for Sunday, Nov. 20 will focus on 1 and 2 Thessalonians. Our next class will be Sunday, Nov. 27 on "Advent in Art," focusing on the way artists have looked at things like Gabriel’s visits to Zechariah and to Mary, and the Visitation. This class will be followed by "A History of Christmas" on Sunday, Dec. 4. Join us for new insights and thought-provoking discussion! All are welcome!

Parish Office Closure
The St. Augustine Parish Office will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Nov. 25 in observation of Thanksgiving. All services and groups will not be meeting on those days. There will be no Healing Eucharist on Wednesday. Normal church activities resume the week of November 28.

El Hogar Cookie Walk is Back!
The Cookie Walk to benefit El Hogar de Amor y Esperanza will be held Sunday, Dec. 18, after both the 8 and 10 o’clock services. Sign up to bake this Sunday. Each baker is asked to bake 3-4 dozen Christmas cookies to bring in the morning of the walk. At the Cookie Walk, we will sell small ($7) and large ($12) containers (containers provided) for you to fill up with all the delicious cookies baked by parishioners. All proceeds will be used to offset the cost of sponsoring a child at El Hogar for the year. El Hogar is a a mission that provides quality education and a safe and nurturing home to children living in vulnerable conditions in Honduras

Caregivers Support Group
The Caregivers Support Group meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 2 pm. The next meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 22. If you are feeling weighed down by caregiving worries or concerns, connecting with other caregivers is great emotional support. Join the Cleanup Crew!
St. Augustine's needs your help ... Steve and Mo Connell are assembling a crew to take on party cleanup. After Thanksgiving dinner, they will offer a training session where you can learn your way around the kitchen and all its equipment, and then will form cleanup crews for our various upcoming events. Monthly Blood Pressure Screening
Come have your blood pressure checked by our RN's on Sunday, Nov. 27 after the 8 am and 10 am services. Education informational will be provided.
“Ask The Dietician”
As part of our ongoing effort to provide health support, The Health and Wellness Team will have an “Ask The Dietician” session the last Sunday of each month (Sunday, Nov. 27) after the 10 am service in the Parish Hall. Church members will have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with Phillippa Norman, MS, RD/LD and ask questions about nutritional wellness. We will discuss how nutrition plays a vital role in managing chronic diseases and improving quality of life.
