This is it- the last few days of 2023! You can make it productive with some simple steps to prepare for 2024, such as:

• Consider increasing your retirement account contributions. Limits have increased for 2024 (see the graphic below).

• Schedule a short discussion with your family about what you would like to accomplish next year. More savings? More experiences?

• Start using a password manager to keep track of your website logins. Make sure a trusted loved one knows how to access it, if necessary.

• Review your life insurance coverage- needs change and insurance is an easy thing to overlook.

Here are some interesting items:

• A recent survey by Fidelity found that 80% of respondents who work with a financial advisor felt they would be able stick to their financial resolutions. Only 51% of do-it-yourselfers had the same level of confidence. We have long felt that ongoing accountability is one of the best things we can provide to our clients.

• If you are looking for more space, you might consider Alaska. The state has the lowest population density in the United States at 1 person per square mile. It is the equivalent of only 16 people living in all of Manhattan.

• We really enjoyed Godzilla Minus One, a new Japanese take on the monster. It goes back to the roots of Godzilla, when he was just a terrifying beast. It was a lot of fun. Watch it with the subtitles.
