The Christmas Festival of Lights opens next Friday

The Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights is just one week away. Opening Friday, Nov. 25, the annual event celebrates the true meaning of Christmas with music, lights and joy.

Known as the world's largest Christmas Choral Festival, more than 150 choirs will perform over the course of 35 nights in the Chapel of Mary, known for its cathedral-like acoustics. 

There are nightly puppet shows and caroling in the pavilion tent, and music all around the grounds. And don't forget the millions of lights!

Daily recitation of the Rosary at The Grotto will take place everyday, one half hour before each Mass.

Oh, gracious God, today's Gospel tells of Jesus' just anger toward the buyers and sellers in the temple. Give me the grace today to keep my mind and heart as a temple of prayer, not distracted by so many other concerns that lead me away from you. Today I celebrate the memorial of St. Marie Rose Philippine Duchesne. The Potawatomi tribe that she came to minister called her in their language "the woman who prays always." May your grace give me the courage to also be dedicated to the prayer of the heart amidst the daily chores and work of my day. I ask this in the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
