Festival of Trees

FESTIVAL OF TREES

Sunday, December 11, 11am - 3pm

Join us for this outdoor winter festival celebrating Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice, Christmas, and Kwanzaa featuring crafts, games, entertainment, market vendors, photos with Santa, and 30+ trees decorated by local non-profits, families, school and scout groups, and local businesses. The creativity and fun tree themes make this day extra special. Don't forget to vote for your favorite!

NEW! Festival of Trees Preview Cocktail Party

Saturday, December 10, 7 - 9 pm

On the eve of our Festival of Trees, come enjoy a “spirited” celebration in the historic Wisner House by sampling a collection of cocktails and desserts representing various customs enjoyed during the holiday season. You'll be invited to take a winter walk and get a "first look" at the lighted trees being featured at Sunday's Festival. A magnificent tree decorated by a local designer will also be auctioned off. Music and merriment will round out this special evening.

Forest Bathing

Winter Solstice, Wednesday, December 21,

1 - 3:30 pm

Live in the present moment while immersing your senses in the sights and sounds of the Arboretum. This guided walk takes approximately 2.5 hours and requires no exceptional skill or physical exertion.

Kids Can Cook: Holiday Tea (children ages 5-10)

Friday, December 16, 4 - 5:30 pm

In historic Wisner House, we’ll brew a special pot of tea, pair it with holiday scones and bite size goodies, then savor and enjoy! Richard Wright, owner of the Secret Tea Room joins us to create this enchanting Holiday Tea, just for kids.

Winter Solstice Celebration (families w/ children ages 4+)

Wednesday, December 21, 4 - 5 pm

Celebrate the shortest day of the year with stories and cocoa around the campfire as we reflect on the ancient traditions surrounding the first day of winter.

Holiday Prep and Decorating (ages 18+)

Now through December 3, 2-Hour Sessions 

Various dates

Prep volunteers will assist with set-up and clean-up; those who are artistic and crafty help create unique centerpieces, wreaths, topiaries, and more.


Festival of Trees (ages 14+)

Sunday, December 11

Shifts: 10:30 am - 1 pm or 1 pm - 3:30 pm

Volunteers are needed for this outdoor festival to help with set-up, crafts, activities, and more. Volunteers should be ages 14+.


Woodland Restoration (ages 18+)

Fridays, 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Help restore our existing woodland trails, plant native trees, identify and remove invasives, and more! Email Trish for more information.


Ground Force (ages 14+, 12-13 w/an adult)

Thursday and Saturday, 1:30 - 3:30 pm

Join our horticulture staff working outdoors to maintain and enhance the beauty of our grounds.

Beginning November 1 (through March 31) the grounds will be open 9 am to 4 pm daily.
