Join us for an upcoming Public Workshop to discuss transportation and land use in the Churchman's Crossing Area. | |
You are invited to attend the Churchman's Crossing Area Public Workshop on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM. in-person at the New Castle County Gilliam Building (77 Reads Way, New Castle, DE 19720) or online via Zoom.
The Churchman’s Crossing Plan Update was adopted by WILMAPCO’s Council on January 13, 2022, and includes recommendations for transportation improvements, land use, and transportation demand management strategies for the area. Since adoption, the Churchman’s Crossing Monitoring Committee (CCMC) was formed in 2022 with the purpose to help guide and fulfill the recommendations of the Plan.
At the workshop, attendees can learn about the latest project updates along with new bicycle and pedestrian priorities in the plan area.

As reported by The Newark Post, "WILMAPCO, along with the Delaware Department of Transportation, New Castle County, the City of Newark and other partner organizations, is working on a comprehensive study of the Kirkwood Highway corridor, looking at different scenarios for improving safety, increasing transit options and encouraging different types of development." | |

As reported by NBC10-Philadelphia, "'Noise, safety, and health concerns' are all issues residents are associating truck traffic in South Wilmington with. While truck issues continue to upset the community, the Wilmington Area Planning Council works to find solutions. annual event at Legislative Hall in Dover. Housing advocates will visit legislators to make sure they know that solving DE’s housing crisis is priority, and that there are solutions to the crisis that we can implement.
