Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Happy Easter! He is Risen, He is Risen, indeed!
Our Alleluia season is here, how will you live in this Easter season?
For Catholics, Easter isn’t a single day dedicated to celebrating Christ’s resurrection. It’s an entire season! The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, also known as the USCCB reminds us that Easter is the principal feast of the liturgical year: “Easter is the most important liturgical time for Catholics. It celebrates Jesus’s victory over sin and death and salvation for mankind. It is God’s greatest act of love to redeem mankind.” The USCCB continues to teach us, "The Octave of Easter comprises eight days which stretch from the first to the second Sunday. It is a way of prolonging the joy of the initial day. There are 50 days of Easter from the first Sunday to Pentecost. It is characterized, above all, by the joy of glorified life and the victory over death expressed most fully in the great resounding cry of the Christian: Alleluia! All faith flows from faith in the resurrection: 'If Christ has not been raised, then empty is our preaching; empty, too, is your faith.'" (1 Cor 15:14)
Look for new ways to be an "Alleluia family" during this Easter Season!
Please let us know how we can better serve you and your parish as we carry out our mission of evangelization to help parishes bring people to an encounter with Christ and a deeper appreciation of the Catholic faith, igniting a joyful witness of their faith to others.
