January 6, 2024 Program Meeting:

Ribbon Cutting for the Pollinator Bridge Project

Where: Peachtree Rd. bridge over Chamblee Dunwoody Rd., immediately followed by a reception at the SEFAA Center.

Please join us for the ribbon cutting for Chamblee’s newest public art installation – the Pollinator Bridge Project! The City of Chamblee commissioned SEFAA to honor the City’s commitment to saving the monarch butterfly and other pollinators, and Katrina Stone, SEFAA’s Board President, rose to the challenge, creating string art zinnias, milkweed, and cone flowers along with fabric monarch butterflies. Come celebrate the completion of this colorful and fun project and then return to the SEFAA Center with us to enjoy light refreshments and a final viewing of the SEFAA Members’ Exhibit which will close at the end of the event. It’s the perfect way to kick off the New Year!

Window of Divine Splendor by Jane Hutchens, a 2024 Square Foot Fiber Art Pin Up Show winning entry. Needle felted with wool batting and antique cotton.

Jane says, "I love to create pieces that require a second look - a second thought. The symbolism of the peacock in different cultures means divine splendor. The eye is the window to the soul. I want to know more about this soul."
