Every year, Home State Bank hosts a night of making meals for people around the world. This year, because of their partnership with Midwest Mission Iowa, they decided to pack Midwest Mission Rice Meals for their 5th annual event.
Midwest Mission staff arrived at the Wild Rose Hotel on Wednesday, March 27 to set up the event. Within a couple of hours, they set up 16 Rice Meal assembly lines that would soon be filled with volunteers.
As the event began, volunteers poured in, filling the room with the noise of rice plopping into bags, and cheering as they finished boxes. Several Iowa Volunteer Leaders were onsite to help facilitate this significant event.
Within two hours, over 160 volunteers of all ages came to pack meals.
“We are so excited to partner with Home State Bank, Wild Rose Casino and Greene County Medical Center for this experience," Danille Curtis, Midwest Mission's Iowa Public Relations Specialist, said.
"It was a spectacular event bringing individuals and teams from several organizations and businesses around Greene County together in community to help provide meals for those in need around the world. Youth and adults aged 8 to 88 worked side by side with a single mission in mind, and the time of fellowship and service was meaningful to all involved. "
The Jefferson community packed 6,005 Rice Meal Bags that will feed 36,030 people around the world.
Thank you, Home State Bank and the Jefferson community, for hosting this great event. These life-changing meals ensure that people around the world will be fed and given energy in their time of crisis.
