It's Official - Snowlion Rep is also Boothbay Summer Theater

Snowlion Rep recently received notice from Maine's Secretary of State that we can officially operate under the name of Boothbay Summer Theater!

Boothbay Summer Theater ("BOOST") will offer dynamic plays and other events that are just right for the summer theater experience for audiences in the Boothbay region, visitors and residents alike. Operating during the summer months only, BOOST has already presented a Christmas in July celebration at the iconic Boothbay Opera House, The Christmas Bride in Concert, in 2023.

This summer will feature a tour-de-force one-woman show performing at the Carousel Music Theater, within a few miles of where the events of the play actually take place! MY WITCH: The Margaret Hamilton Stories has been performed in several venues in New York, as well as in Freeport and Lewiston, and the production now comes to Boothbay Harbor!

Read more about this spellbinding new play and plan your magical visit to Cape Island off the tip of Southport (pictured here) to spend some time with Hollywood's greatest character actress, Margaret Hamilton, as she spins tales of a life in Maine, Hollywood, and beyond...

The WITCH is back, not to scare

but to share her amazing life!

If you love Maine...if you love The Wizard of Oz...if you love the theater and everything Hollywood, MY WITCH: The Margaret Hamilton Stories is a valentine to them all. How did a gentle kindergarten teacher from Cleveland became the most iconic WITCH of all time? This delightful play reveals the secrets behind the woman behind the green paint!

MY WITCH: The Margaret Hamilton Stories performs during the region's Windjammer Days Festival in Boothbay Harbor, June 27, 28, and 29 at 7 pm, and June 30 at 3 pm. Performances are at the Carousel Music Theater, 196 Townsend Avenue. Tickets for all seats are $25 (a cash bar is available at the venue). Purchase your tickets by visiting boothbaysummertheater.com or call 207.315.6612 for more information.

This may be the last time the show plays in Maine. Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance to spend time with Maggie, her wit, her spirit, her stories, her life - it's a visit you'll never forget!

Coming in July - the Faust legend as you've never experienced it

Snowlion Rep continues its work developing new and newly imagined works for the stage with a workshop reading of a new play by Al D'Andrea, Faust in the Anthropocene, performing July 27 and 28 at Portland Stage Studio Theater in Portland.

This groundbreaking and startling new work is an exploration of mankind's contemporary crises, featuring wisdom tales from the Land of Snows woven together with familiar characters from both the Faust legend and our own troubled times. Original music by Aaron Robinson will be heard throughout the show, including the new rock anthem Kali Yuga (Dark Age).

The cast of 16 features Portland theater veterans such as Kevin O'Leary as the perpetually dissatisfied billionaire Faust, Sean Ramsey as the playful Tibetan yogi Shabkar, Karen Ball as the sinuous embodiment of Faust's ego Mara, and so many more!

This workshop is FREE (donations gladly accepted) and seats are limited. Reservations can be made by calling 207.315.6612 or emailing us at info@snowlionrep.org. Don't miss this exciting theatrical debut!
