IMMERSE Messiah Launches on Sunday, September 22

Will you read through the New Testament in 2024? Earlier this year, Crosstown read through the 1st half of the NT. Now, on September 22 we’ll resume our quest by reading through the 2nd half. Daily Bible readings will be based on the “Immerse BIble” that is available @ Crosstown for $10. Our top priority is to ask, “Lord Jesus, what are you seeking to say to me through your Word?” A podcast with the daily readings may be found at: https://www.immersebible.com/messiah-16-week/ There will be a Grow Group meeting to discuss these readings on Wednesdays @ 6:30 pm in the back of the Sanctuary.

Dwight Ekholm to Visit MN & Crosstown

Dwight Ekholm (pictured alongside Sandi), a lifelong ambassador of Jesus, will soon be in our neighborhood! First, on Thursday, October 3 there is a gathering hosted by Kathleen Lindahl @ 5352 15th Ave. S., Minneapolis MN 55417 from 10:00 - 11:30 am. Second, Dwight will be sharing in our worship gathering on Sunday, October 6 and is promising to bring his banjo for an inspiring rendezvous with our worship team!

Pastor John & Marna’s Trip to Turkey

The Jacobi’s will be spending October 7-20 in Turkey. Their adventure is a faith-based journey entitled: “A Pilgrimage of Faith in Ancient Turkey: Paul in Ephesus, John on Patmos, and the Cappadocians in Anatolia.” The group of twenty is led by Dr. Dan (retired from Bethel) & Pastor Judie Ritche. This trip will be the inspiration for a Crosstown sermon series on Revelation in 2025!

Katherine Lillehei Medical Education Scholarship

A number of years ago a long time sister in Christ passed away leaving funds to

establish a Medical Education Scholarship fund. The purpose of this scholarship fund is to encourage faith-filled members of Evangelical Covenant Churches to pursue careers in the field of medicine. This includes doctors, nurses, physician’s assistants, nursing assistants, psychiatrists, and other caregivers. This scholarship is for education of current practitioners as well as those currently enrolled in a career in medicine. Application deadline for the current year is October 15, 2024, with the scholarship being awarded in Mid November 2024. Applications and guidelines are available at SubmittalForm.

Prayer Requests:

Wednesday Night Ministry began on September 18 and we are thankful to God for 70+ people here - kids, youth and adults.
Pray for youth to find youth group as welcoming and a safe place to explore and find Jesus. Also, that all our students would experience God's love for them.
Pray for our volunteers and leaders on Wednesday nights as we welcome all the kids and youth
Pray for parents as they begin the Rhythms Grow Group. Pray for strong connections.
