Spring Ahead!
Spring is getting closer and closer! March 10th, we set our clocks forward an hour, and the daylight hours will begin to lengthen. Many of us get the spring-cleaning bug around this time of year. Whether you are considering selling your home this spring or summer, or just want to declutter and spruce up a bit, this is a great time of year to work through some home maintenance projects. Here are some great
areas to focus on to bring your home back into tip-top shape!
Enhance Curb Appeal: First impressions count! Give your front door, and windows a good cleaning. Touch up trim, repair and paint any nicks. Clear out any leaves or debris that have blown in over the winter. This is an excellent time to get front flower beds prepared. Remove last year’s dead plants, trim back lawn from sidewalks. Give front porch light fixtures a good cleaning.
Deep Clean: Give every corner of your home a deep clean. Pay special attention to vents, moldings, draperies, ceiling fans, and even behind the refrigerator!
Brighten Up: Clean windows inside and out. It is amazing how cleaning windows can brighten your home and provide a fresh clean view.
Update Fixtures: Maybe a whole bath or kitchen remodel is not in the cards, but updating light fixtures, mirrors, faucets and cabinet hardware can give your home an updated and fresh look. Have fun picking out new lighting fixtures, new mirror styles, and cabinet hardware that speaks to you!
Repairs: This is a great time to fix or replace leaky faucets, repair loose doorknobs, chipped tiles, missing grout. These are little repairs that can make a big difference in the appearance of your home.
Paint Touch Ups: Is it time to refresh the paint in your home? New neutral tones or lighter colors can add a brightness to your home.
Meet with your Realtor: And finally, schedule time to sit down with your Realtor. Even if you are not planning to sell, your Realtor can provide insight and ideas for new home projects to keep your home looking great. Your Realtor will also share market information for your area and how your equity in your home is growing. Meeting with your Realtor can save you time and money and help grow your
investment in your home! And if you are considering selling, your Realtor can help you make the best choices to prepare your home for the market and maximize your exposure to get the best price.
