Caring Ministries

Caring Ministries is partnering with Urban Alliance in a new resource center focused on mental health, located in the Connector. Brochures are available on Fear & Anxiety, Trauma & PTSD, Discouragement & Depression, Grief & Loss, Addiction & Recovery, and Serious Mental Illness. Additional information on Care & Counseling as well as a Resource Guide for Hartford County are also available. These resources are free to you or someone you know who might benefit from this information. If you have questions, please contact Caring Ministries at care@firstchurch.org.

We are pleased to announce a new location for our crib and toddler care in Room 201 located across from the prayer room in the Marsh building. This room is designed for newborn through 36 months of age. Please use this area on Sunday mornings for your baby or toddler's needs.



Contact Vicki Huffman at children@firstchurch.org if you are available to volunteer once a month to cover this area.

Installation Service

An Installation Service will be held tomorrow, February 25 at 2:00 PM in the Meetinghouse. Rev. Todd Willard will be officially installed as the 29th Senior Minister of First Church. Dr. J.R. Briggs, who has served in various pastoral roles and now works in leadership consulting, has served as mentor to Todd over the past year and will bring a timely message.

A reception will be held in the Wells Area following the service. All are welcome as we celebrate this next important step in First Church's history.

First Women on First Fridays

Join us on March 1, from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Wells Fellowship Area for fun, fellowship, and a springtime craft. A sample of the Spring wall/door decorations will be at our sign-up table this Sunday. Sign-ups are needed so we can purchase the necessary supplies! A $10 donation is suggested.

Work Day

There will be a Church Work Day on March 16 from

8:00 AM-12:00 PM. We will be doing a deep clean to prepare for the Easter Services.

Vacation Bible Camp

Join us this summer for our annual Vacation Bible Camp!

This year's VBC will be July 22 to July 26 (Monday-Friday),

from 8:45 AM-12:00 PM for ages 4 years to completed 5th grade. The theme is "SCUBA; diving into friendship with God!"

Missionary of the Month

Emil and Sarah Helm of One Challenge, provide support to North African believers and Latin American workers throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Emil is recording 25 sessions on Discipleship in Spanish and promoting the perspectives on the World Christian Movement in Spanish. Sarah is mentoring interns and teaching English to Moroccan immigrants in Malaga.
