Daily Lenten Offering

“Those who love their life lose it, and those who hate their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also. Whoever serves me, the Father will honor.”

—John 12:23-26

Afford to me an extra measure of sauce to trust, to embrace the possibility that life after death, living after sacrificing, can be full and more beautiful than I can imagine. Amen.

Until recently, Rev. Traci Blackmon served as the United Church of Christ’s Associate General Minister for Justice and Local Church Ministries. In this sermon from last year Rev. Blackmon explores the story of Jesus and the Woman at the Well. What do we need from Jesus? And what does Jesus need from us?
