Checkride Apps Updated

ASA’s Checkride apps feature an easy-to-use flashcard format to study the questions most likely to be asked by examiners during the last step in the pilot certification process—the practical exam.

Updates are now available on iOS and Android for Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, CFI, and ATP Checkride apps to reflect the latest editions of the Oral Exam Guide books, as well as some design enhancements.

This month's essential read is the 2024 Instrument Rating Test Prep Plus®. Weather doesn't always cooperate with your flight plans. The cold, less VFR friendly months are a good time to study and prepare for your instrument rating.

The combined Test Prep book and Prepware software for the Instrument Rating, Instrument Flight, and Ground Instructor FAA Knowledge Exams are supported with answers and explanations. Test Prep Plus includes softcover book, Prepware software, and 24-month subscription to Prepware Online.

Dealer of the Month

February 2024

ASA is grateful for the many dealers and retailers who make it possible to find our products all over the globe. Each month we feature an ASA dealer here in ENROUTE and on our website. Our Dealer of the Month for February 2024 is VIP Pilot Centre in St-Bruno, Quebec.

"VIP Pilot Centre was established on the south shore of Montréal in 1981. The founder of VIP Pilot was an avid pilot and recognized the need to provide flight publications and state of the art pilot supplies. We are one of the largest online providers of pilot supplies in Canada offering our services in both English and French. We ship nationwide, and for the most part our customers receive their items next day. Initially headquartered in St. Hubert, VIP Pilot relocated to St. Bruno in 2004 to accommodate the growing business, and we proudly continue to call it our home."

The 2024 NGPA Industry Expo and Winter Warm-Up

ASA returned this week from the 2024 NGPA Industry Expo in Palm Springs, CA. This expo is one of the largest pilot recruiting events in the U.S. and is attended by scholarship winners; student pilots of every level; commercial, general aviation, and business/corporate pilots; and hundreds of ATP-qualified active airline pilots seeking employment. Two days were filled with keynote speakers, educational seminars, pilot mentoring, and networking opportunities. Exhibitors of aviation products and services, agencies dedicated to pilot professional development, and representatives from regional and major airlines filled the exhibit hall.

NGPA's mission is simple: "BUILD, SUPPORT, and UNITE the LGBT aviation community worldwide." The organization continues to grow every year, as do their scholarship dollars. This year they awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to members in various stages of their training and raised over $100,000 during the Saturday night gala.

ASA visited with student pilots, provided resources to get them started, and spoke with professional pilots who used ASA products to get where they are today. Here are photos from the event. Find out more at ngpa.org.
