The Cool Team's 2022 Year in Review!

As a for-profit entity, we deliver services that include translations, community outreach, and influencer management. But here at Cool, we have learned that our work often addresses many inequities, and thus we intentionally seek to collaborate with strategic partners to drive sustainable change.


In this 2022 Recap, we are proud to showcase some of our outreach and marketing campaigns, as well as community collaborations.

Cool executed a successful outreach campaign to support the Baltimore Community Foundation's efforts to address vaccine hesitancy among the Latino population by means of funding available through the COVID-19 Vaccine Hesitancy Fund.


We facilitated Southeast CDC's ¡Viva Baltimore! event, helping the Hispanic and immigrant community get closer to their dreams of homeownership through a series of informational sessions about grants, financial assistance, mortgages, and homeownership counseling.

Our founder and CEO Veronica Cool was featured in Women of ALPFA Baltimore's virtual Power Charlas with Powerful Women event alongside Inez Stewart of John Hopkins Medicine and Nereida Perez of McCormick & Company, discussing why representation matters, and how allies can show up to amplify and support Latina voices. 

CEO Veronica Cool inspired young Latinas as the keynote speaker for the Latina Legacy Conference hosted at Patterson High School, empowering them with tools and resources to become strong leaders. 

Cool supported SRS Distribution through their SRS Para Latinos program to facilitate their first-ever Spanish booth and Premios Éxitos (Success Awards) at the International Roofing Exposition 2022 in New Orleans. 

Our CEO Veronica Cool was named to newly-elected Maryland comptroller Brooke Lierman's transition team as co-chair of the Procurement and Public Works workgroup.

The North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association held their annual convention with a theme of Stronger Together, which featured Veronica Cool presenting the session “Attracting, Retaining, and Engaging the Hispanic Workforce.” 

We collaborated with Maryland Health Connection to provide resources to our Latino community and improve access to affordable healthcare options, which contributed to a 9% increase in the number of Hispanics enrolled in health plans, as reported by the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.

This year, we released our updated one-of-a-kind Hispanic Engagement Toolkit! We poured our collective 20+ years of knowledge and experience working with the Latino community into one resource, chalk-full of actionable guidance for you to kickstart a year-round Hispanic engagement strategy.

Veronica Cool joined Maryland's Women's Caucus (Women Legislators of Maryland Foundation, Inc.) to continue prioritizing representation--and what's more important than supporting our women legislators?

We proudly partnered with the City of Annapolis and the Day of the Dead festival, celebrating a beautiful Hispanic tradition to honor our family and friends who are no longer with us and to rejoice in the love and fond memories which keep them alive in our hearts.

In partnership with the Maryland State Board of Elections, Cool executed a Hispanic outreach campaign to inform, promote, and motivate eligible members of the rapidly growing Hispanic community to vote in the Maryland 2022 Primary and Midterm Elections!

In partnership with Notre Dame of Maryland University School of Pharmacy, Cool hosted two virtual events, providing information to Latino students interested in pursuing a career in healthcare and discussing important issues such as the vital role of bilingual pharmacists in our communities and how pharmacists can contribute to improving equitable access to healthcare to underserved populations.

Our start-up nonprofit marked its 2nd year - helping over 33,00 Latinos across Maryland! During Maryland Nonprofits' 30th Anniversary Conference, Maryland Latinos Unidos executive director Dr. Gabriela Lemus and co-founder Veronica Cool hosted a Roundtable on Latino Organizational Capacity-Building, as well as leading a workshop on how to engage with the Latino community through successful outreach and communication strategies.

Cool partnered with the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) to host a Homeowners Assistance Fund (HAF) Intake Application Clinic at Patterson High School, providing bilingual guidance to help homeowners experiencing financial hardships due to COVID-19 get access to important resources to protect their homes.

By collaborating with Maryland's Department of Health, Cool ensured that our Spanish-dominant community was informed about the importance of vaccination, in partnership with key community leaders, including Dr. Ligia Peralta of Medstar Family Choice, Pedro Palomino of Somos Baltimore Latino, and Centro Sol.

Our lead linguist, Pamela Meneghini and Cool & Associates LLC are both proudly ATA certified, enabling our team to provide the highest-quality professional translations to improve language access to the Spanish-speaking community across industries.
