$70 Million Working Washington 5 Grant Opens August 17, 2022
The Washington State Legislature has allocated $70 million for Working Washington Grants: Round 5 (WW5) to support small businesses and nonprofits affected by the pandemic. All for-profit and non-profit businesses, including sole proprietors and independent artists, are encouraged to apply.

Learn more about this funding opportunity by registering for OneEastside SPARK's no-cost webinar Working Washington 5 Grant Application Walk Through on Thursday, August 18 from 9 - 10:30 a.m. The webinar provide simultaneous interpretation in ASL, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, and Spanish.

Join OneRedmond for a special evening of strolling, sipping, and shopping at our first ever Redmond Wine Walk, Friday, August 26 from 5 - 8 p.m. at Redmond Town Center. Kick your summer weekend off with a date night or gather good friends for a fun night of wine tasting, as your favorite Redmond Town Center shops will feature tastings from Washington’s finest wineries curated by Seattle Uncorked.
Tickets may be purchased online for $30 and includes: 10 wine tastes, a complimentary wine glass, and an insulated wine tote for storing wine bottles purchased tax-free at the event. Discounts available for groups of 2 or 4. This is a 21+ event, so all attendees will need to show a photo ID at check-in.

OneRedmond Welcomes the International Rescue Committee
OneRedmond is proud to welcome the International Rescue Committee (IRC) as one of our newest members. The IRC provides opportunities for refugees and immigrants to rebuild their lives and translate their experiences into valuable assets in their new communities here in Washington State.

We invite you to join us in supporting the IRC's Back to School Backpack Drive, to provide 200 newcomer youths with the essential supplies they need to successfully start what may be their first time learning at a U.S. school. Legislative Wrap Up Reception Hosted In Redmond
OneRedmond was thrilled to be the host chamber for the East King Chambers Coalition Legislative Wrap Up. During the event, members had the opportunity to meet with state legislators, while also hearing more about the actions taken during the recent session via wrap up panels discussion. OneRedmond welcomed a small delegation of companies from the United Kingdom the week of July 20. These companies came to the Redmond area to learn about our local industry and seek potential collaborations and partnerships. The delegation was comprised of the following companies: Hollywood Gaming, The Ideal Factory and Goldratt Research Labs.

Redmond 2050: Help Shape The Future of Redmond - August 18
The City of Redmond is updating its Comprehensive Plan to plan for growth through 2050. The updated plan will refine the community vision, values, and objectives considering key themes of equity and inclusion, sustainability, and resiliency.

Attend the upcoming virtual workshop on Wednesday, August 18, 6 - 8 p.m., to help decide where housing and job growth should go and share your priorities for the future of Redmond. RSVP to Redmond2050@redmond.gov for a link to join the workshop.

Based on feedback from the community throughout 2020 and 2021, three alternatives for how Redmond can accommodate the growth anticipated for our community between now and 2050 have been created and studied for impacts to the built and natural environment. This workshop will review and get community feedback on options studied. 

Tourism Grants Opportunity: Drive Customers to Redmond Businesses 
The City of Redmond is now accepting applications for 2023 special event and tourism grants. Grants are provided through the Tourism Promotion Program and funded by the lodging tax. The program stimulates our local economy as it aims to bring visitors to Redmond to shop, dine, and stay in hotels. Applications are due August 16. More information is available here.
