Lift installation continues

The installation of the handicap lift began on Tuesday of this week. Originally we expected the installation to be completed this week, but . . . in line with our current luck . . . 3 panels of glass were fouind broken when the packaging was opened, which will require the lift manufacturer to reship those to us, delaying completion until at least next week.

We also had to have the railings for the addition returned to the vendor because the wrong color was shipped to us. As soon as the correct color is received we will start installation of the railings.

And if that wasn't enough, the stair treads for the new stairs were measured incorrectly (too short), so we are having to install an edging on the stairs to cover the error.

Despite all these setbacks, we continue to work toward completion of the project and the finished product will look great!

In September

The Standing Committee has announced a slate of four candidates for the ninth Bishop of the Diocese of West Missouri. The election will be held on Saturday, November 9. The next bishop will succeed The Right Reverend Diane M. Jardine Bruce, Bishop Provisional.

The candidates in alphabetical order are:

• The Very Rev. Amy Dafler Meaux, Dean and Rector, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, Little Rock, AR
• The Rev. Dr. Bradley Pace, Rector, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lafayette, IN
• The Rev. Molly Payne-Hardin, Rector, Trinity Episcopal Church, Watertown, NY

Members of the diocese are invited to meet the candidates during a “meet and greet” (called WESTMODIOlogues) to be held at churches across the diocese during the week of September 16, 2024. These gatherings will be live-streamed for those unable to attend in person. All gatherings will start at 6:00 pm with a light meal followed by discussions at 7:00 pm.
