Confirmation Classes

Confirmation classes begin on Sunday, March 3 at 9:30 am in the Lady Chapel. This class is for all who desire to be Confirmed as well as those who are Confirmed in the Roman Catholic or Orthodox Church and wish to be received as a full member of the Episcopal Church by the Bishop.

You must be 16 to be confirmed, but 15-year-olds may take the class, as the bishop's visitation could be in 2025.

Information and Registration forms are in the Narthex.

Lent

During the season of Lent, the Church calls us to be more intentional about doing good works. One easy act of kindness we can all participate in is making a weekly contribution to our basket for the food bank. Peanut butter, canned tuna, macaroni and cheese, are all easy staples, but all non-perishable items are needed.

Fundraising Committee

We are looking to put together a fundraising event for this year. We want your ideas and expertise for our committee. If you have any experience and can help St. Martin's, please email Fr. Rob.

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for the repose of the soul of Barbara's brother, Bob.
  • For the repose of the soul of Fausto's uncle, Jose, and his family.
  • Jim Agosto asks for prayers for Laura S. who has brain cancer.

Visit our Parish Prayer Webpage

Please send your prayer intentions to Philip at philip.muniz@gmail.com. Also, if you want a name removed, you can email Philip.

Outreach

  • We are collecting items for Easter Baskets. There will be a plastic bin in the coat room for these donations. We need everything you can think of! Baskets, grass, candy, toys, etc.

  • Once again, we’re collecting new/gently used items for the Household Items Giveaway at the beginning of May. Items are due to St. Martin’s by Monday, 29 April. Any questions, please contact Kathy Shanklin. Thank you.

  • The Food Bank is in great need of food items, paper goods, and toiletries for our neighbors in Somerset County. Cash and checks are also greatly appreciated. There’s always a container on the stairs leading up to the choir loft.

Guest Preacher: Worshiping with us on the Fourth Sunday in Lent

The Reverend Lionel Pacheco, CP will preach at the 10:30 am Mass on Sunday, March 10. He entered the Roman Catholic Passionist Community in 1987, professed his first vows in 1990, and was ordained a priest in 1996 after completing his master's degree in Theology. He later obtained a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Hofstra University in New York. During his years of pastoral ministry, he has worked in youth and vocational ministry, parish, and prison ministries, and in the Passionist Postulancy Program for new candidates for consecrated life. Father Lionel has ministered in Puerto Rico, in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orlando, Florida, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and in the Passionist Monastery Parish Church in Jamaica, Queens. He currently resides in the Passionist Community of the St. Vincent Mary Strambi Residence in Pelham, New York, alternating the priestly ministry with his counseling practice in Harlem for the LGBTQ+ population, the homeless, HIV+ population, and alcohol and substance disorders.
