Students Attend USHLI Conference

On Thursday, students attended the United States Hispanic Leadership Institute (USHLI) National Conference in Chicago! The USHLI National Conference provided an opportunity for students and young professionals to interact with recruiters and future employers at the Career and Undergraduate College Recruitment Fair. Over 50 colleges and universities across 12 states and companies such as the American Federation of Teachers, ComEd, FedEx, National Education Association, State Farm, and more were in attendance.

Pep Rally on Valentine's Day!

Student Association held a Pep Rally on Valentine's Day!

The pep rally included performances from the band, cheer, poms, and the Dancing Divas. Thank you to Student Association for coordinating the pep rally and Minority Empowerment Club for their empowering speech.

Judge Senechalle Visits Reading Classes

Hon. Robert E. Senechalle, Jr. (Ret.) was invited to Ms. Wyszynski’s and Mrs. Anderson’s reading classes to judge the students’ debates and provide additional evidence. Judge Senechalle served the legal community for 18 years in the Circuit Court of Cook County and for 32 years in private practice as an attorney. Students presented their claims and opening statements, provided evidence that supported their claims and counterclaims, and ended their presentations with a closing statement.

Computer Science Discoveries Breakout Boxes

Ms. Czajka’s Computer Science Discoveries students worked on breakout boxes with Ms. Phillips in the Library. Ms. Phillips designs lockbox activities around a variety of content areas, working with teachers to create fun learning experiences for students.
