A Farewell Thank You

Please join us Sunday, November 20th, during worship to express our appreciation for our administrator Suzanne Finocchiaro. We will have the chance to bid her farewell at coffee hour.  Suzanne has been a wonderful asset to our church and she will be missed. Her final day in the office will be November 21. 

Joann Klawitter, chair of Staff Relations, will be collecting donations for an appreciation gift. 

And Saying Hello

Maria Angelotti will be joining our HCC team as the new administrator on Monday, 11/7. 

Maria lives in Haverhill, MA and has spent the last 35 years working as an office administrator.

She spent her youth on the shores of Big Island Pond and loves everything about the town of Hampstead. 

Maria's hobbies include traveling, cooking, playing guitar and spending time with family. Maria is thrilled to be joining the staff at Hampstead Congregational Church.

Make sure to stop by the office and say hello to Maria.

Loaf and Ladle this Sunday

Our popular loaf and ladle soup lunch following worship is back and we are so excited! 

Please join us for a Loaf and Ladle celebration this Sunday, November 6 right after Sunday Service!

Several yummy homemade soups, breads and brownies will be served.  

A free-will offering will help to purchase formula and diapers for the Manchester Diaper Pantry to assist families in need.

Hampstead Thanksgiving Service

Back In-Person

Sunday, November 20 at 4PM

For over twenty years, local clergy and congregations have gathered at the Hampstead Old Meeting House for a town Thanksgiving service with the offering going to benefit Isaiah 58.

This year we are so happy to have the community service back in-person.

Please plan on joining us on Sunday, November 20 at 4PM at the Hampstead Meeting House at 20 Emerson Ave.

2023 Offering Envelopes

We are creating our own custom offering envelopes this year. The white envelopes will be for general giving and the blue envelopes will be for special offerings.

This is a cost-savings and paper-saving measure for our church as we can create just what we need for each person for each offering season.

We can create weekly envelopes for those that prefer giving every week OR we can create monthly envelopes for those that prefer giving once a month.

If you would like offering envelopes for 2023 and Suzanne has not already reached out to you, please contact the office at 603-329-6985.

Covid Exposure

We have learned that someone who attended service this past Sunday, 10/30, tested positive for Covid on Monday.  

The individual is feeling well but wanted to let us know.  We thank this individual for updating us.

We are thankful to those attending our recent Stewardship Sunday service. Whether you sent your

pledge card to the church in advance or presented your pledge card during the service, all were given a

symbolic blessing of our faithful financial gifts given in covenant. For this, your Stewardship Team is

thankful.

If you were not able to attend the service on Sunday and have not made a pledge for next year, we welcome your consideration to support the many ministries your planned commitment will fund.  Additional pledge cards are available by contacting the church office. Generous, Intentional, Proportional and Cheerful sharing of our abundance provides funding to maintain and create a better world for all as God intended, our Grace in Action.

Fall Church Clean-Up,

Saturday, November 12

9:00am-12:00pm 

Save the date and your energy. Your Operations Team requests your help and has scheduled Saturday, November 12 for our fall church clean-up. There are outdoor tasks, such as leaves and debris clean-up, garden clean-out, and indoor tasks that may include windows, dusting, etc.

Bring your rakes, tarps and cleaning supplies. You may also help with snacks and water for the volunteers.

Many hands make light work.

LED Lights

Available

Recently, HCC was gifted some new DFWin 360 degree LED lights. These lights screw into a regular light socket and will allow you to angle each of the 3 sections the way you desire. The lights are $5 each or 5 for $20.  

If you are interested, the lights are located on a table on the left wall of Hadley Hall by the Hospitality Table. A cash box is on the table so you can leave cash or a check made out to HCC with a note of LED lights.

All proceeds will help towards our Capital Campaign.

New Locations for Plastic Recycling Collection Bins

Two new people are collecting the plastic that will go towards Trex park benches for our community.

The current locations that you can drop your plastic off:

1. Next to the Civic Club garage in the center of town.

2. At the town garage behind the paper recycling box on route 121.

Final Work on

Hadley Hall Floors This Friday

This Friday, November 4th, the final work will take place to complete the floors in Hadley Hall.

The work will start around 3PM and be finished that evening.

There should be no impact on any scheduled activities.

Interfaith Choir

You may have heard that the Interfaith Choir of the Greater Derry and Londonderry Area has started up again after a 2-year hiatus. We were very excited to regroup and we have a great selection of music planned for our December Holiday Concert!

This year, we will be having just one public concert on Sunday, December 4 in the afternoon at Hampstead Congregational Church. There will be refreshments in Hadley Hall immediately following the concert.

Bible Study Resumes

Bible study resumed today, 11/2 continuing through Wednesday, 11/23 at Jane Conradsen's home at 9:30. If you need the address, you can contact Jane or the church office.

A Word From Peace & Justice

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we are sharing a map of the territories and languages of the native people who first lived on the lands of North America. It was developed by a Canadian non- profit, Native Land Digital, which is run by a majority-indigenous board of directors and executives.

They grapple with the complexities of what it means to be indigenous over time and location. They seek to support conversations about the history of colonialism, the indigenous way of knowing”, settler-indigenous relations, which allow indigenous people to represent themselves and their history in their words.

The focus on the land is because:

Land is something sacred to all of us, whether we consciously appreciate it or not — it is

the space upon which we play, live, eat, find love, and experience life. The land is ever-

changing and ever-shifting, giving us — and other creatures and beings on the earth —

an infinite number of gifts and lessons.

The Music Corner by Herb Tardiff

Charles Ives was a New England composer who was born in 1874 and died in New York City in 1954. His father George was a band leader and taught music lessons on many instruments. Charles became a church organist at the age of 14 and wrote hymns and songs for church services.

Charles went to Yale and studied music and composition. Upon graduation, Charles started working for an insurance company. After a few years, he opened his own insurance company where he stayed for most of his life. Charles was a pioneer in 20 th century music and was admired by many contemporary composers and unfortunately, most of his works were not performed during his lifetime.

When I was in college, we performed one of Ives’s works called the “Gong on the Hook-and-Ladder”, also known as “The Fireman’s Parade up Main Street”. This composition features the sound of a parade band and through the use of different meters mimics the approach and departure of the band.

Hampstead Senior Citizens Holiday Dinner

Hampstead NH Seniors 62+, the Hampstead Recreation Commission is happy to announce that they are bringing back the Senior holiday dinner - IN PERSON!!

They are so excited to see you all and bring back this cherished event to kick off the holiday season!

Dinner will be roasted Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, vegetable, rolls and a dessert.

To get a ticket you will need valid proof of residency and $5, tickets are at the Town hall during Town Clerk’s hours starting Thursday, now through Thursday, November 17th*

*The deadline for purchasing tickets is November 17, 2022 or when all 325 tickets are sold. You must have a ticket to attend this event.

We are here if you need us

Is buying food a struggle? With all the prices being raised in the grocery stores, it is a struggle for many.

St. Anne's Food Pantry, is here for you when you need help, even if it is just a temporary need. If you are a resident of Hampstead, East Hampstead, Sandown, Danville, Atkinson or you are a member of St. Anne's Church, you are welcome!

We welcome you as friends. You pick out your own products, including fresh produce, deli, bread, desserts, meats and many grocery staples.

Everything is confidential.

Our hours are every Thursday 9:30AM-Noon & 5PM-6:30PM. Please note there are Special Hours for Thanksgiving and the Pantry is closed Thursday, 11/24. A special Thanksgiving distribution occurs on Saturday, 11/19 - you must register for this special Thanksgiving Distribution now through Thursday, 11/10.

The Food Pantry is located behind the church at 26 Emerson Ave in Hampstead.

Also, any email from Pastor Kathy will always have her signature line on the bottom with her phone number/address.
