The start of the year is an exciting time for our students who have recently applied to join schools in September and we are thrilled that offers have been received from some of the UK’s most sought-after schools, including Wellington College, Tonbridge, Haileybury, Hurtwood House, Ardingly, Bromsgrove and Brighton College. It is fantastic to see their hard work and dedication being rewarded.

League Tables

This month we have been delighted to send out certificates to congratulate the highest performing schools in the country and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of their students.

• Top of the independent boarding school league tables this year based on their 2023 A-Level results is Cardiff Sixth Form College, where over 94% of grades awarded were either A* or A.
• Oxford International College also deserves a mention with over 90% of exams achieving A* or A grades.
• Wycombe Abbey once again stands proudly at the top of the Girls’ Boarding School league table for its A-Level results and their girls also achieved a stunning 97.5% 9-7 at GCSE.
• St Paul’s School in London is at the top of the Boys’ table this year, with the famous boarding schools, Eton College, Tonbridge, Winchester College and Abingdon School also in the top five.

We also celebrate the schools offering the IB Diploma whose students achieve the highest average points each year, both in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world. The IB is a broad and academically demanding curriculum marked out of 45 points and, incredibly, students in several UK schools achieved an average score of 39 points or more which puts them among the top 20 IB schools in the world!

Of course, these schools that consistently top the league tables are academically selective and only admit students with the ability and commitment to do well. However, their outstanding results also reflect every school’s focus on providing a superb education that will stimulate and challenge young people. It is no wonder that these top-performing schools attract students from all over the world.
