Flash Announcement

I am pleased to announce that we are proceeding with a much-needed facelift to the Hollenbeck church offices. We are replacing all carpet and repainting all the hallways and stairs. We are moving the pantry refrigerators into the kitchen, and we are moving the Bookkeeping Office to the room that had the refrigerators. The room across the hall from the Rectors office will be restored to a small meeting and counseling room for Rev. Michelle. The Rector’s office, the Bookkeeping office, and the Counseling Room will have their hardwood floors refinished and walls repainted.

We discovered a plaque on the wall in Hollenbeck that was dedicated to the last time Hollenbeck was refurbished. It was dated 1980. (43 years ago) I am proud to say we are moving forward with the work, which will start Monday, and the contractors promise it will be completed by April 1st when Rev. Michelle arrives.

YouTube

The easiest way to watch our church services on YouTube is:

  • Open YouTube on your TV. (this depends on your TV and if you are using Spectrum cable or possibly a ROKU device)
  • Go to “Search” and Enter “Christ Church Springfield”. (by the time you have entered “Christ Church Spr” there will be a list on the left side of the screen.
  • Look at the list, and we will be about the third one down
  • Do NOT type “Christ Episcopal”. Our church will not come up on the list.

African Bible Study Tuesdays at 12 pm!

African Bible Study or Sacred Reading (Lectio Divina) is on Tuesdays at noon, and we use the below Zoom link:

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85856795275pwd=NHRBQlZvRU9PL1h3dWFuMmJBa2NHdz09

This Bible study is a structured, meditative approach to learning about our Christian faith from scripture. It not only discourages but also disallows crosstalk during the collective reading. It encourages self-reflection as well as listening to others.

We hope people who are interested will join us in this empowering group study of scripture. If you have questions, write Pat Cary at sisterpcocd2@hotmail.com or Keith Doubt at kdoubt@gmail.com. Each week we will read the Lectionary reading for the forthcoming Sunday.  We hope you consider joining us!
