Honoring 8th Grade Students & Parents

Pancake Breakfast - Thank You!

The Staff and Teachers would like to thank the St. Paul School and Church Families for attending the Pancake Breakfast in celebration of National Lutheran Schools Week. It is a joy and honor sharing conversation and fellowship with you. Thank you for all that you do to support St. Paul Lutheran School. Principal Matyas would like to give a special thank you to our amazing Culinary Queens: Sheri Lusher & Karen Bass –thank you for feeding our hearts and stomachs!

NLSW Dress Days Rescheduled

St. Paul will enjoy Creation Day on Tuesday, January 30, and Wacky-Tacky Wednesday on Wednesday, January 31.

  • Day 1: light/dark
  • Day 2: sky and sea
  • Day 3: land and plants
  • Day 4: sun, moon, and stars
  • Day 5: birds and sea creatures
  • Day 6: land animals

Parent Teacher Conferences

Mark your calendars for Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16. A sign-up genius will be available next Friday, February 2.

Report Cards

Due to the snow days and missing work from absent students, grades for the second quarter are still being finalized this week. Report Cards for the second quarter will be Friday Folders on Friday, February 2.

Junior Symphonic Band Winter Concert Reschedule

Due to our recent snow day, the Junior Symphonic Band Winter Concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 13, at 7:00 pm in our St. Paul Gym.

Sub Sale Fundraiser for 7/8th Grade Trip

The 7/8th grade students will have a 6” sub sandwich fundraiser to raise money for their end of the year class trip. Look for more details to follow in the upcoming weeks. Subs will be assembled on Friday, March 1, and will be available for pick-up after school the same day.

Family Valentine's Dance

Friday, February 23, 2024

5:30-7:30 p.m.

Children Preschool-5th grade and their families are invited to join us for an evening of pizza, pop, dessert, and dancing. You will need to purchase your ticket for the dance. Tickets are available in the office for $10 per family. Please purchase your ticket by Tuesday, February 20, so that we can have enough food and drinks for everyone! If anyone would like to help decorate or set up for the event, please let Mrs. Lara know!

2024 Great Lakes Bay Region Lutheran Schools Musical

All Great Lakes Bay Region (5th-12th) Lutheran students are invited to try-out for the upcoming 2024 Matilda Jr. musical. Try-outs will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran, Saginaw on February 3 & 4 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Poms Showcase

There will be a Cheer & Poms Showcase on Thursday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m. at Zion Bay City. Tickets will be $2 per adult and can be purchased in the school office beforehand.

Week 6 (July 28 - August 3) Camp Lu Lay Lea

Over the past couple years, students of St. Paul have enjoyed a week of summer camp at Camp Lu Lay Lea. This summer a number of St. Paul families are hoping to send their campers during Week 6 (July 28-August 3). If you have a student between the ages of 8-14 who might be interested in a Lutheran summer camp experience please consider checking out Camp Lu Lay Lea https://www.camplulaylea.org

Inclement Weather School Closing

With cold weather coming, we inevitably know that there may be a Snow Day or two in our future. How will you know if school is closed for a Snow Day? Check these three places:

  1. St. Paul Lutheran School will be closed when Bay City Public School closes, watch for it on WNEM's School Closings. 
  2. The office will also send out a FastDirect email.
  3. School Closings will be posted on our St. Paul Lutheran School Facebook Page.
