Our Annual Meeting is around the corner

Successful visit to Peru

A presidential delegation attended the IV Pan-American Congress of Optometry held in Lima, Peru between 22 and 24 September. We were delighted to support this event and our chapter at the Eurohispano Institute which celebrates 25 years of work educating optometrists in Peru. Our sincere congratulations to the Eurohispano Institute on this milestone.

President Ciszek and past presidents Twelker and Matchinski lectured, ran workshops, met other SVOSH chapters attending the event, and also visited the premises of the Eurohispano and of our SVOSH chapter at the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal where Dr. Matchinski ran a low vision workshop. We are grateful for the Peruvian hospitality. Enjoy some pictures here.

Our humanitarian work is resuming

Reports from our chapters

Our SVOSH chapter at the school of optometry at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (SVOSH-KNUST) Ghana held an outreach clinic at the Ayeduase Market in Kumasi, Ghana. The report includes a sample of beautiful pictures. The report is here

VOSH-Southeast in partnership with Eye for God Ministries held a successful clinic in San Juan Sacatepéquez, Guatemala offering hundreds of eye surgeries and eye examinations. Read the report here.

VOSH-Michigan is going to Honduras and needs volunteers

VOSH-MI is looking for adventuresome individuals who want to spend a week in Honduras working to improve the vision and eye health of Honduran people while experiencing a fantastic cultural exchange. Full information is here

VOSH-South Dakota is going to Gomez Palacio, Mexico

This clinic will be in February 2013. They are looking for 6 ODs or more. They have some scholarship money for first-time doctors. Contact Jennifer Ness for more information sdvosh@gmail.com

VOSH-Ohio is going to St Maarten
