Dear Parents,
It was so great to welcome everyone back to kick off the 2024 year. We have so many exciting things planned for 2024.
Our students in the Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade program have begun a curriculum called Kindness 101. You may know Steve Hartman from On The Road on CBS. He goes around the country looking for feel-good stories of people doing kind things. He has also produced a kids' show with 5-8 minute videos with his kids to teach kindness. Our elementary kids will watch one story a week and learn new concepts like kindness, courage, empathy, etc. I have put links to the Kindness 101 playlist on our website in the parent corner. You may wish to watch some of the clips with your children ages 4 and up. Each is so powerful and teaches a great lesson. When you go to our website look for this box in the Parent Corner Section.
Thank you to everyone who donated items for the migrant camp families. The first batch of items was picked up on Friday. There will be another pick-up on Tuesday 1/16 when we return from being closed on 1/15. They were so very grateful and mentioned that they are in dire need of car seats so if you have those or any other items to donate, feel free to drop them off over the weekend outside my office or on Tuesday. Again, thanks for helping to spread kindness!
We are super excited about our all-day staff training on Monday 1/15, (REMEMBER WE ARE CLOSED) and the follow-up. The nationally renown and YouTube sensation Patty (Singing with Patty) will in-service our staff and also visit our school. On Tuesday, all classes except Blue, Yellow, Red, and Green will walk next door to the clubhouse for a 45-minute song and dance session. IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED PERMITTING THEM, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO DO SO ON TUESDAY. Those classes will be billed $8 for the field trip.
Patty will be doing a FREE 20-minute class for our Blue, Yellow, Red, and Green classes. That will take place here at our school since those kids are too small to travel next door.
