Howard County Executive Calvin Ball is seeking community members to serve on the Adult-Use Cannabis Advisory Panel. The deadline to apply for consideration is Friday, August 9th.
“With the legalization of adult-use cannabis in Maryland, Howard County is committed to promoting public health, public safety, business, and social and racial equity in the adult-use market. The Adult-use Cannabis Advisory Panel will be a critical partner in that effort,” said Ball.

With the summer heat here, residents are reminded to NEVER, EVER leave a child or a pet alone in a car, not even for a minute.
REMEMBER, a child's body temperature can rise up to five times faster than an adult's and a body temperature of 107 degrees is fatal. As for pets, it takes just 15 minutes for an animal to sustain organ damage or even die from heatstroke.

Survival Guide for the Elementary Years | |

Changes occur with your child as they grow and develop in the elementary years. Children fluctuate between independence and dependence and the combination can bring a wide range of behavior issues and cause parental frustration.
Learn how to understand and help your 4- to 10-year-old; set the stage to create positive situations for empowerment and pride; and develop consequences that work. Gain strategies to handle oppositional behaviors and learn strategies for better homework habits.

The Freetown Farm team will host the first-ever “Food by Freetown” event, which will feature fresh food and drinks prepared with ingredients grown on the farm.
