Message from Ms. Hana Abbott, Principal:

Dear Cougar Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

It is my honor to welcome everyone back to another great year. School starts back the week of August 19th, and we look forward to collaborating with you as partners in your child's education.

It is truly a privilege to serve as a principal of Gross Catholic and be a part of a community where parents, teachers and students care for each other. We all work together to build positive relationships that support academic success and social growth. If you have any questions, please call the office at 402-734-2000. We hope you are having a great summer and look forward to starting the 2024-2025 school year with enthusiasm and excitement.

Sincerely,

Ms. Hana Abbott

Message from Steve Eubanks, Head of School:

Dear Cougar Family-

The past few months have certainly flown by. Our faculty, staff, and administration have been working diligently all summer preparing for a remarkable year.

We would like to give a warm welcome to our newest team member, Corey Peterson. Corey will serve as the Dean of Students and Technology. He comes to Gross Catholic with a great deal of experience as the previous Athletic Director and Technology Director of Mercy High School. He has already been a great help as we have transitioned the school to a new phone system and wiring our gymnasium for the new digital screens and scoreboards.

Unfortunately, our team is losing one of our own for the 24/25 school year. We wish to thank Brandi Holys for serving as Vice President of Advancement at Gross Catholic High School for the past two years. Brandi’s contributions to our school and community have been significant. We are appreciative of Ms. Holys’ work and wish her well on her new ventures.

Although the 24/25 school year is right around the corner, our leadership team is dedicated to quickly finding the next dynamic, transformational leader to be a part of our Cougar family. We will introduce our new teachers in early August.

With Blessings,

Stephen P. Eubanks

Freshmen Retreat: Below are details about your upcoming retreat on August 19.

*Come as you are - you are wonderfully made. You do not need a backpack or school supplies on this day. We just need you. This is your day to get away from the pressures of starting the school year and to enjoy the company of your new classmates. We will store all of our cell phones in a secure place for the day. Our "social network" will be those on retreat with us.

*All will be provided for you. Walking tacos, fruit, and Rice Krispie will be our lunchtime menu. Muffins and yogurt will be provided as a morning snack. If this menu will not work for you, please provide your own meal.

*Leave your uniform at home. You may wear school appropriate shorts, tees, and pants. No yoga pants, tank tops or shorts that are shorter than finger length. Be prepared to run around and sit on the floor.

*Be on time. We begin at 7:40 sharp and will be on retreat until 3:00. Please gather in the Commons by 7:35 to get your name tag and find your group.

Junior Marianist Mission Program: All Juniors will complete 3 "events" of service. One of these "events" of service must be to serve at a Catholic parish or school. Why not tackle your parish service before school starts? Click here to see what opportunities are already available to you (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050848ACAF2CA02-50439676-junior).

Junior Retreat: Please clear your calendar for September 11. Our Junior Retreat takes place at Tree Rush Adventure at Fontenelle Forest from 7:40 AM-3 PM. Details will be provided as soon as we get back to school.
