Meet our newest intern, Bryn Dean! Bryn is a Library Media Specialist for 7th -12th graders during the school year, but on her summer breaks she loves the challenge of learning new things. This summer she is interning in our kitchen as our dessert and prep specialist. Each week she whips up delicious, sweet treats to tantalize your tastebuds as well as preparing all of our Community Meal desserts! Learning to bake in such large quantities is a bit of a learning curve, but that is what she loves best! She also loves the opportunity to serve and give back to her community. Bryn recently joined the One Bistro Board of Directors and we couldn't be happier to have her on our team!.

This is a unique place in that the restaurant is staffed almost entirely with volunteers and all profits go towards helping the less fortunate. We wrapped up the final two summer camps at Sterling Green Park and Lexington Park hosted by the City of Xenia Parks & Recreation and Athletes In Action. One Bistro was thrilled to jump in and provide these much needed lunches for the campers as part of our Ministry Meal program.

“We have been so blessed by One Bistro’s generosity for this program. We started the free camps in the parks to give kids in Xenia and families a safe and affordable summer program. It has been even better to provide each child with a full and balanced lunch as well! We couldn’t have done it without One Bistro. Campers are excited for lunch every day. It’s usually the first thing they ask! So many kids and parents have commented about how grateful they are for these camps and lunch is beyond their expectations."

One Bistro Manager, Margie Cook and Board President Denise Davis visited Xenia United Presbyterian Church where Denise spoke during their Missions' Minute. XUPC has sponsored and volunteered quarterly at our Wednesday evening Community Meal for many years and we are so grateful for their faithful partnership!
