2024 #1

Hello my friends,

I'm back from an amazing trip to India.

I took a tour of sacred sites in northern India where the Bodhi tree

of Enlightenment is, Buddha's birth and death place and took a boat ride on the  River Ganges in Varanasi. The entire experience was enlightening on several levels, both uplifting and disheartening.

It's a colorful and vibrant, ancient and culturally interesting place.

I'm blessed and privileged to have gone.

Today we are releasing our artist exhibitions,

salons and artist visits for 2024.

Take a look and use this advance time to schedule a visit to New Orleans to meet artists you love and collect.

Shaka and Aaron Reichert are doing salons in February and March...

Mackenzie Thorpe will be here for an exhibition artist talk in April...

Tajah in July for Essence.

Eddy Stevens in October for Art for Art's Sake

 and Anne Bachelier in November!

Mark your calendars and make plans to come meet them!

Mardi Gras is upon us on February 13th and it's getting wild outside!

Buckle up New Orleans!

2024 will be a transformational year for me and my gallery...

and we're off!

Much love for years of loyalty,

Angela

Reichert New Works

Aaron's subjects are people found in quiet moments of solitude. His faces and figures are hewn with a palette knife out of passages of black and white. Working without a detailed plan, he paints intuitively, shaping an environment of energy seemingly below the skin of the subject. From a distance, we see a dramatic figure; from close up, we confront a spontaneous orchestration of particles bursting from the canvas. Reichert has created a technique that gets beneath the surface of his subjects and revitalizes the art form.

Raymond Doulliet

Graphite on paper

Working at his studio in an old coaching inn among the fields of a French farm community, Douillet creates works unparalleled in their quality and attention to detail. While the true meaning of the finished work is left to the viewer to determine, Douillet frequently shows us parallels between verbal and physical expression, as well as commonalities between the English and French languages: double entendre.

Mardi Gras Show

on view through February

Theodor Seuss Geisel, a.k.a. Dr. Seuss, began his career as a little-known editorial cartoonist in the 1920s. His intriguing perspective and fresh concepts ignited his career, and evolved quickly to illustrations, sculpture, and sophisticated oil paintings. His artwork became the platform for children’s books, his Secret Art filled with, wonderfully inventive animals, characters, and humor.

Come join us to view these rarely seen

Seuss prints from the Archives.
