Dear Residents -

If you have not yet cast your vote, you can still do so at Town Hall this Saturday or Sunday, between 9 am and 5 pm, or on Election Day, November 7th between 6 am and 9 pm, at your regular poll site. Not sure where that is? Click here to find out. Please note that there is no early voting on Monday, November 6, 2023.

For those who travel along Route 9W, southbound Route 9W from Shadyside Avenue to South Broadway will be closed tomorrow from 7 am to 12 pm. The Orangetown Police Department will be on hand to direct traffic. Please obey detour signs, be patient and plan accordingly.

Tonight, Keller Williams Hudson Valley Realty and the Pearl River Saloon are hosting a fundraiser for Rockland Homes for Heroes. All proceeds will help furnish 14 new apartments built by Homes for Heroes to house homeless veterans. There are 37,508 homeless military veterans in the U.S. that need our help. Unable to attend but would like to donate? Please click here.

The Orangetown Highway Department has started its Leaf Pick-Up Program. To get an idea of when they will be in your neighborhood, check out the leaf pickup portal. Be advised that the dates are estimates based on previous collections and are intended to provide an approximate time frame. The weather, volume of leaves, and personnel availability are all factors that may impact the time frame. Please check the website frequently for the most accurate information.

As an alternative to having your leaves picked up, our friends with the Nyack Climate Smart Committee suggests you try some climate smart leaf management ideas instead. To learn more about the program, click here.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to turn your clocks back on Saturday before you go to bed.

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

#BringThemHomeNow

Supervisor Kenny was honored to attend the Chabad of Suffern’s “Empty Shabbat Tables.” The empty place settings represent the 242 hostages kidnapped by Hamas. Hundreds of people came together at the Ramapo Town Hall to raise awareness and support for the hostages.
