2022 St. Luke's Church Picnic(s)

It's Summer! Let’s have a picnic!
In fact, let’s have two!

In the spirit of Gathering together, St. Luke’s will
be having not one, but two potluck-style
church picnics this year.

Our first picnic will be this Sunday, August 7th,
after the service.

Start looking through your recipes and plan
on bringing something delicious to share.
The church will supply the beverages,
burgers, and dogs.

Our next picnic will be Labor Day weekend,
Sunday, September 4th.
"Rule of Life" Series

We will have an eight-week series on living a Rule of Life beginning Sunday, September 11th.

Each week we will meet after church at 12:30 PM with Fr. Dan as he shares to tools to develop your own personal Rule of Life.
Women's Group Bible Study

The concept of inheritance isn't just a subject in Scripture. It is a theme stretching all the way from Genesis to Revelation.

On Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM the Women's Group
is participating in a bible study from Beth Moore entitled
"The Inheritance Bible Study."

Based on Psalm 16:5-6 (ESV): "The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance."

The study includes 9 sessions of approximately 60 minutes each.
There is a Listening Guide available for note taking during each
of the nine sessions. They are $5 each and can be purchased
online through Living Proof.

If you are interested or want "Moore" information,
contact Linda Hartman.
St. Luke’s is coming alongside the outreach ministry of the church of Ela Kloda, a former member and friend of St. Luke’s, in Poland.
Her church has rented out two apartments for refugees, and they have committed to feeding 40+ families from the Ukraine. There are 85 children in these families of mothers (no fathers) and the cost is stretching their resources. It cost only $1.85 per day to feed one of the children.
We are asking our members to prayerfully support this outreach. Checks can be made out to St. Luke’s Church with Ukraine Outreach in the memo, or contact Fr. Dan for further information.
Missionary Visit from John & Tanya and Max & Annie
On Sunday, June 26th, we had the opportunity to visit with
John & Tanya Lynch and Max & Annie Andruschenko,
and hear them give us an update on their mission and outreach work.

For those who may have missed it, below are ways you can
support them in ministry.

What is "Stage 4"?
Stage 4 is a group of regular people who happen to have cancer or have been closely touched by cancer in their lives.

What does "Stage 4" do?
Stage 4 creates comfort bags which are given to people entering into chemotherapy and cancer treatment. The bags are created by people who have gone through cancer treatment themselves and have a unique prospective on how to make time in treatment a little easier.

Why does "Stage 4" do this?
We are guided by 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, where we are told about the God of all Comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

How much do these bags cost?
The comfort bags are available free of charge for both men and women in cancer treatment.

How can You help with this ministry?
You would be most welcome if you would like to help with putting together comfort bags. Stage 4 meets in the Lower-Level Conference Room at St. Luke's Church on Thursday mornings at 9:30 AM and on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 PM.

For more information, to contribute, or if you have any questions,
contact us. We look forward to serving together.
