The CSL in a Nutshell

Monthly Updates for Students,

from the Center for Service Learning

Winter Break Course: UNIV 492

The CSL will be offering an online six-week section of "UNIV 492: Special Projects in the Community" from December 18-January 26! UNIV 492 counts as a service learning or social awareness course for the Certificate in Service Learning.

If you plan to participate in an Alternative Winter Break through KU Alternative Breaks or intend to volunteer at least 40 hours between semesters, UNIV 492 is a great way to earn course credit for those experiences while deepening your understanding of ethical and effective service!

Submit a UNIV 492 Registration Request by Stop Day.

Service Showcase Presentation Opportunity

The CSL's annual Service Showcase is an opportunity for students to share their service projects and experiences with the University community and Lawrence community partners. Presentations will be highlighted at the CSL's Summit on Community-Engaged Learning and Scholarship in January.

If you've been participating in service through a course, student organization, or on your own, we encourage you to submit a proposal for the Service Showcase presentation opportunity!

Service Showcase Proposal Submissions are due by December 8

and are reviewed on a rolling basis. Upon acceptance, final

presentations are due by December 22.
