The 100 Years From Mississippi team wishes everyone a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Thank you to everyone who helped make 2021 a year of great success for our film.
We kicked off the new year with a couple of sweet surprises: by proclamation of the City of Buffalo, December 28th was deemed "100 Years From Mississippi Day" by Mayor Byron Brown. We are grateful to the City of Buffalo for this recognition! Buffalo was our beloved Mamie's home for many years, and it was two years from that date that she made her transition.

And we've been nominated for "Outstanding Independent Documentary" at the 22nd Annual Black Reel Awards to be broadcast live on February 27th at 5:00pm PST. Nominees Here!
Northern California Screenings Rescheduled to Spring
We must unfortunately share a bit of gloomy but necessary news to all of our San Francisco Bay Area friends and supporters. In the interest of keeping our in-person audiences safe, we have decided to postpone our live screenings in Berkeley (originally scheduled for January 13th) and San Francisco (January 16th).

The recent steep increase in COVID Omicron cases made our decision the only responsible thing to do. But don't worry—we're still coming to share the film with you in the Spring, when we hope the warmer weather will bring a decline in COVID cases, making it safer for everyone to come out and enjoy the film.
100 Years From Mississippi will now screen at the Berkeley Rialto Cinemas Elmwood Theatre on Thursday, March 17th at 7:30pm and at the Roxie Theatre in San Francisco on Sunday, March 20th at 2:00pm (co-sponsored with the Freedom Archives). Each screening will have in-person filmmaker talkbacks, and both theaters are taking Covid precautions, which can be viewed at the Elmwood Theater and the Roxie Theater websites. Please click on the theater links above for tickets and check our website and social media for updates with the new info. 
ELMWOOD & ROXIE TICKETS PURCHASED: If you already purchased tickets to attend the Bay Area screening at either the Elmwood or the Roxie and the new dates and times are agreeable to you, no action is needed on your part. Your tickets will be waiting at Will Call at the Elmwood Box Office on March 17th and your tickets will be valid for the rescheduled screening at the Roxie on March 20th.

ELMWOOD & ROXIE REFUNDS: However if you cannot attend on the new date and time and would like a refund, please contact the Elmwood Theater at (510) 540-6482 “during theater hours,” to speak with theater staff. For Roxie Theater refunds, please email your proof of purchase to [email protected]. 
In other news, we're still heading to Montgomery, Alabama to screen at the Peace and Justice Memorial Center on Saturday January 22nd. We are so excited by our invitation from the Equal Justice Initiative to screen as the first film at their newly built, state-of-the-art theater.
