We are pleased to offer a rate of $190.00 per night for a King or Queen/Queen in the Inn. Call for Nominations for
New Physician Award

This award is to recognize a new physician who has made a significant contribution to the Iowa Academy of Family Physicians and Family Medicine. DEADLINE IS AUGUST 10th

Criteria for the award are:
  • Been in family medicine practice for 7 years or less.
  • Is in involved in direct patient care.
  • Is an IAFP member in good-standing .
  • Has taken an active role in IAFP activities which include at least 3 of the following:
  • AAFP/IAFP committee membership
  • AAFP/IAFP CME participation
  • AAFP/IAFP annual meeting attendance
  • IAFP legislative coffee attendance
  • AAFP/IAFP leadership role or position preceptor
  • Has been involved in their community

Nominations:
May be received annually from an IAFP active member.

Need state mandated CME? IAFP is offering state mandated CME courses on Chronic Pain & End of Life Care on-demand. See below for more information and registration.

Iowa-licensed physicians are required to complete 2 hours of Category 1 credits for chronic pain management and 2 hours of Category 1 credits for end-of-life care every five years. These requirements became effective August 17, 2011, are for physicians who provide primary care to patients (e.g., emergency physicians, family physicians, general practice physicians, internists, neurologists, pain medicine specialists, and psychiatrists.)

Iowa Immunizes Needs Your Help!
Participate in this short survey
Iowa Immunizes is partnering with the University of Iowa Prevention Research Center for Rural Health on a project designed to promote COVID-19 vaccinations in Iowa. The Center is dedicated to improving the health of rural communities in Iowa and beyond by providing technical support and implementing interventions. Through this project, we have identified a need to address concerns about vaccine safety and efficacy before, during, and after pregnancy and for young children.  
 
We are recruiting both rural and non-rural clinic managers and health care providers to provide input on strategies that would be successful when recommending COVID-19 vaccines. Your responses will be confidential and will help us develop relevant training materials for clinics promoting vaccinations across the state. 

Health care providers in rural and non-rural clinics are asked to complete a 10-min survey about vaccine communication strategies for prenatal, postnatal, and preconception patients:
