For your thought:

After John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.” --Mark 1:14-15

St. Mark’s to Host Asylum I-589 Pro Se Clinic for the NM Immigrant Law Center & Albuquerque FaithWorks

Friday, January 26, from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., St. Mark’s will again host an Asylum I-589 Pro Se Clinic for the NM Immigrant Law Center & Albuquerque FaithWorks. The clinic assists asylum-seekers with the completion of the most vital paperwork for obtaining asylum in the United States. St. Mark’s would like to provide a simple food offering for the volunteers and clients, and it would be beneficial to have door greeters working in shifts to direct clients into Parish Hall. Also, anyone proficient in both English and Spanish are encouraged to volunteer to help clients directly. I-589 volunteers MUST pre-register with NMILC, complete online training and attend a remote pre-clinic check-in on Tuesday, January 23 at 1:30 via Zoom. Sign up at the Welcome Table or via email to stmarks@stmarksabq.org. NMILC reports that clinic volunteers competed 100 I-589s and 93 EADs at clinics in 2023, making a tremendous impact for immigrants in New Mexico.

Ushers Needed

We will be reorganizing St. Mark's ushers and hopes to recruit enough people to this ministry to have individual Sunday teams, including a 5th Sunday team. This is an easy ministry to participate in and you get to meet everyone coming through St. Mark's doors on a Sunday. We need anyone interested to step forward! This can be a meaningful ministry for couples and families too. Please contact Jo Ann Swinson at 505-803-6403 (call or text) or email her here.

Memorial Fund for Charles "Mark" Hendrick

To make a donation, you may give in the offering plate, or bring it to our office with a memo "Memorial-Mark Hendrick."

You may also give online via PayPal here. Please select "Memorial Fund" and add "Mark Hendrick" in the memo/note field. Thank you for your assistance and willingness to help!
