Fun Snack Cart for our OCCS Staff:

Fun Snack Cart for our OCCS Staff & Teachers! Help us show appreciation to the OCCS teachers and staff on Wed Jan 17, 2024! You can choose to sign up to volunteer your time to serve the snacks to the teachers or you can sign up to make them a special treat!


To Serve- you will come in at 1:45 to individually plate the items, place on a cart and walk them around school delivering to teachers and staff. After you are done bringing the treats you will bring the remaining treats back to the teacher’s lounge. Please clean up the area you used.


To bring food- Please have food to school by 1:00. We will need 7 people to make desserts/snacks items to serve 12 teacher and staff. (These items can be desserts, pie, bars, cookies, fruit with dip, salsa and chips or snack mix cups, etc.)

Northwest Iowa Honors Orchestra:

Congratulations to these seven OCCS students who were accepted into the Northwest Iowa Honors Orchestra. The festival will be held on January 25 at Christ Chapel, culminating in a 6:30 pm concert in conjunction with the high school honors orchestra.


Students are:

Violin - Kennedy Cleveringa

Viola - Marielle Visser, Meraya Dittman, Maggie Visser, Lane Coulander

Cello - Sutton Kooiker

Bass - Elizabeth Muilenburg

Parents - Digital Citizenship Learning Opportunity:

Unity Christian School is hosting a middle school Digital Citizenship presentation on toda, January 11 from 9:15-10:15 am. Our 6th-8th grade students will be attending. Bobby Truhe, partner in the law firm of KSB School Law, will share his knowledge and experience on some of the dangers in our digital world, specifically cyberbullying and sending/receiving inappropriate content.


Parents are invited and welcome to attend!

Weather Alerts / Changes in Schedule:

Please be aware of how we share information on early dismissals, late starts, and cancellations.

  1. We will send a text and/or email message to all our families.
  2. We will have a message on the school website.
  3. We will send information on changes to the following radio stations: KSOU & KLEM.
  4. We will send information on changes to the following TV stations: KTIV & KCAU.

Please talk to your children about what will happen if there is an early dismissal. Make sure your child knows ahead of time what the plan is for those days.

TRIP News

  • School year TRIP hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00am - 3:30pm. and Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am - 12:00pm.
