In Search of the Beloved Community


Dear Colleagues, my heart’s desire for each of you for 2024 is that you will prosper in every area and that you will enjoy good health. Let me introduce myself - I am Cecelia Ann Walker the eldest daughter of Walter Cecil and Annie Laura Walker. This is important to me because whatever I accomplish has its roots in their investment in my life and even their missteps have shaped me into a person who is in search of the Beloved Community. Both taught me to ground my life in love and gratitude.

Marc Medwed Named Interim Executive Director


At the beginning of the year, we embarked on a search for a new executive director, a process that has moved along well and will wrap up in early 2024. Recently, we shared with you that Robin Brown-Haithco will be departing as the interim executive director on December 31, 2023. To ensure a seamless transition as we complete the executive search process, the ACPE Executive Committee has invited Associate Executive Director Marc Medwed, EdD to step in as interim executive director, effective January 1, 2024.

The ACPE office will be closed for winter recess beginning December 22, 2023, and reopening on January 2, 2024. We appreciate your patience while our team spends time with family and loved ones, and we look forward to our continued work together in the new year.

Outcomes and Indicators Implementation Cohorts

This past fall, we had over 100 educators participating in Outcomes and Indicators Implementation Cohorts. Building on the success of these regular meetings, ACPE wants to provide opportunities for additional collegial engagement and consultation for many more folks and the opportunity to share resources and ideas. The Certification Q & A will not take place on Monday, December 18, will not meet in January, and will resume on Monday, February 5, 2024.



We invite all ACPE Certified Educators working with Certified Educator Candidates to join us for informal consultations and conversations via Zoom. The drop-in meeting (no RSVP required) will take place on the first and third Mondays of the month, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm ET. Read more
