Welcome New Members/Friends

Did you recently join our church, complete our Foundations class, or transfer from another church? If so, you are invited to a formal welcome for members and friends on Sunday, August 4 during the 9 AM service.

If you have questions about this event or membership at OSLM, please email Angela Westphal, or call the church office at 925.447.1246.

Big Wednesdays Continue

The grill will be ready by 5 PM; bring your entrée and a side dish to share (optional), and meet us outside the Fireside Room. We'll provide paper products, condiments, and beverages. Following, we'll gather for worship and learning at 6 PM for all ages, and conclude at 7 PM. Stay for fellowship after.

Sunday Bible Study

The Bible is an amazing library of books filled with the wisdom and truth from God Himself. Written by a variety of different authors, the various books of the Bible express not only God's Word but the personalities of our Lord's human partners. Join us on Sunday at 10:30 AM in the Fireside Room.

Thanks for the Help!

With the help of a few folks, we replaced the sand in the preschool playard, last weekend! Thank you to those who came out and helped beautify the space for our little ones. The preschool now has a new lawn and a new sandbox! Special thanks to Randy Hall for coordinating the projects.

Men's Retreat

All men of OSLM are invited to spend a weekend specifically designed to help you grow in your faith and become the man that God has created you to be. A Lutheran Men's Retreat will take place from Friday, August 23 - to Sunday, August 25, at Redwood Christian Park in Boulder Creek, CA. Learn more and register through the brochure linked below. You may also connect with our church contact, John Webb, for more information.

Women's Study on Galatians

Paul's letter to the Galatians exhorted believers to stand firm in the truth, stay bold in love, and walk by the Spirit. Paul also reminded them what it looked like to live for God’s approval rather than human approval. These words are as needed today as they were then. This Beth Moore study begins on Friday, September 13, and will be finished in early December. If you'd like to join us, please email Beth Young or call her at 925.344.1011 to reserve a workbook ($21).

From the Quilting Group

The OSLM quilt group and Adult Lunch Bunch will again assemble Care Kits for Lutheran World Relief. You can help by donating bath-size soaps, and nail clippers for the kits. A collection box will be in the back of the church until September 1. Our goal is to ship 75 kits in October. We appreciate your support. Please contact Beverly Trutner at 925.989.9760 with any questions.

Throughout the summer, students going into Middle School and older are invited to join us for Boardgames and Brunch in the Youth Room. We'll eat yummy brunch foods, play board games, and engage in faith discussions. Boardgames and Brunch takes place on Thursdays, from 10:30 AM-12 PM, through the end of July. We hope to see you there!

Looking for some fun, social time over the summer? The campus will be open for Family Meet-ups every Thursday. Parents and children are invited to hang out on the Blacktop and Playground from 10:30 AM - 12 PM, coinciding with Boardgames and Brunch for the middle and high school students. Adult supervision is required. We look forward to having you on campus.

Bible Sponsorship

It's not too late to help us reach our goal of placing 170 Bibles into the hands of OSLS students in the fall. Bibles will be gifted in different grades to provide the Scriptures at age-appropriate levels. The donation cost is $20 and can be made on Sundays during fellowship time, or in the church office.
