Bright Ideas Auburn had so much fun leading up to Halloween! We painted pumpkins, enjoyed the beautiful weather outside on nature walks, dressed up, and went trick-or-treating around the center! As we shift out of spooky season, we're looking forward to November and talking about our families and thankfulness!

" Our spotlight for this month is on Ms. Tamesheia. Ms. Tamesheia works in one of our infant classrooms. She has a smile that lights up the room anytime you see her. She loves her babies and they adore her. Her dedication to her classroom is second to none. She is nurturing, loving and kind and the adoration from her families are evidence of how much she dotes on the children in her care."

We loved celebrating October and all the fun activities that came with it! For instance, our school agers loved their Bubbling Pumpkin science experiment where they used vinegar, food coloring, and baking soda to create a chemical reaction in their pumpkins. We had a great time at our fall festival with games, pizza, candy, and prizes! Our students loved getting to use their fine and gross motor skills for all the games we had available. Thank you to the families that donated candy! Another thank you to Larry's Pizza and Papa John's for the pizza donation!
While we'll miss October, we're excited to get ready for our November themes of Early Settlers, Native Americans and Pilgrims, The First Thanksgiving, and Healthy Foods!

This past month at Collierville Christian Academy has been full of fun activities! Our school agers have loved all their fall art activities and have worked on their engineering skills by creating structures and towers! They used their math skills as well as teamwork to create structures they could climb or even lay in! Our two-year-old's worked on their fine motor skills by practicing the correct grip of their markers to draw, and used a busy board to learn how to zip, buckle, snap, button, and tie! These activities allowed them to also work on their color and shape recognition!

Fall is officially here and we have been busy enjoying all it has to offer! We've been making fall art, using our fine motor skills by pumpkin painting and having a fall sensory activity. We celebrated our fall festival with games, activities, a photo booth, and a hay ride! We loved celebrating Halloween and seeing everyone in their costumes, and we hope everyone had a safe and fun night trick-or-treating!

We had our annual reading carnival and the children not only had fun but was also a great learning adventure which allowed our parents to be involved. We had activities in each classroom that allowed children to immerse in reading activities. Some of our games included, Bingo for Books, Find Your Name Search, File Folder Games, Great Reading Race, and many more activities that were related to literacy. These activities are fun interactive ways to help children engage in letter recognition, literacy, and comprehension. Find Your Name Search helps build the process of site reading and the importance of understanding letters and sounds. Our File Folder Games not only had focus in literacy but also in math concepts such as matching, sorting, and problem solving. Lastly, our Great Reading Race is a game where children advance to the next spot if they can read a familiar sign such as Starbucks, Home Depot, and so forth. This helps children with their site reading and rote memory.

"Mrs. Leila is one of our Pre-Kindergarten teachers of sixteen years. She is one of the best educators here at Stepping Stones. Her professionalism and high regards to education makes her shine brightly. She does not hesitate to take extra time to work one on one with each of her students during quiet time, and always makes sure her students feel loved, encouraged, and confident.

We've had so much to celebrate this past month! We had Spirit Day (that our Pre-K's LOVED), our Fall Festival, Halloween, and welcoming Fall! Our 3's classroom learned how to use scissors this month. Learning how to properly use scissors helps with fine motor skills, building hand strength, developing hand-eye coordination, and improves attention to tasks! We're so proud of the progress they've made. Our older 3's favorite activity was when they practiced using their imagination to come up with the Halloween costumes they wanted!

Here at Midlothian, we had a very fun filled October! We had and an exciting visit from our local Fire Department for Fire Safety Week! We'd like to give a special thanks to Mr. Murphy for bringing the fire truck and his fellow firefighters! π©βπππ₯π§―The two year old class learned that pumpkins are orange and used their fine motor skills to put torn paper on their pumpkin cut out. They absolutely loved this activity! The most fun of all is when our JKs went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch and got to watch Ms. Jamie cut a pumpkin open to see what the inside looks and feels like.
