Virtual Workshops for Library

Leaders and Managers

The Partnership's Education Institute is hosting two more virtual workshops as part of its Leadership and Management learning series.

Effective Managing in a Unionized Environment

Date: Monday, Oct. 23 from 10am to 2:15pm CST (1pm to 4:15pm ET)

Cost: $120 for members (including SLA members), or $155 for non-members

Many people in management roles are not taught how to successfully apply management rights in the workplace and are left to learn by experience. But there’s a better way!

Minimize frustration and missteps with this specialized workshop created to empower leaders without sacrificing respectful employee rapport, workplace integrity, or efficient performance. Learn to navigate the nuances of a unionized library environment with confidence. Through interactive simulations, open discussion and group exercises, attendees will familiarize themselves with management rights, how and when to apply them, and how to strengthen consistency and fairness to turn a unionized workplace into a thriving organization.

This virtual workshop will be facilitated by Paul Mulvihill.

Restorative Management: Rebuilding Trust in a Low-Morale Workplace

Date: Monday, Nov. 27 from 12pm to 2pm CST (1pm to 3pm ET)

Cost: $110 for members (including SLA members), or $145 for non-members

Boost your workplace morale with renewed energy, more clarity, and restored confidence! When left unaddressed, low morale can define the culture of the workplace. It can impede workflow, employee performance, social dynamics, and interpersonal exchanges, not to mention deliverables and outcomes crucial for moving your organization forward.

This innovative workshop equips managers with the tools to identify causes and signs of low morale, assess the impact it has on workplace culture, and take action with practical approaches to address persistent issues and rebuild trust with teammates.

This virtual workshop will be facilitated by Rochelle Mazar and Jennifer Fairchild Simms.
