Helping Hands with Cross Catholic Outreach     

Put your Faith in Action by packing Christmas gifts for children. Plan a “Box of Joy” drive or a food-packing event with Cross Catholic Outreach. Your council’s work will ensure impoverished children receive gifts this holyday season.

Baltimore Knights teamed up with Cross Catholic Outreach to pack more than 40,000 meals for those in need locally and in Guatemala. Watch an inspiring video of these knights in action as they work toward their goal of providing one million bags of food.

March for Life – Plan Your Trip!

Fraternal Leaders can now order "Vivat Jesus 2024" through Supplies Online. A bulk order discount of 20 books for $100 will save you $60 off the cover price. Individual copies are also available through the CIS Online Store but will not be discounted.

Vivat Jesus can be a great gift to give at your council Christmas party or to attendees of your council’s Cor gatherings. It's also a great resource to give to new members who join your council. We are hosting Spanish-only Fraternal Benefits webinars for our Spanish-speaking communities for the first time. These three events will occur in November and be presented by Jose Lebron-Sanabria, Vice President of Hispanic Sales, Knights of Columbus.

District Deputy

• Make plans to attend your jurisdiction’s midyear meeting.
• Review Supreme Council growth incentives for district deputies and check with your state council on any additional programs they are offering
• If your councils’ accounting period ends June 30, then November 15 is the deadline to submit the proper IRS Form 990 (U.S. Councils only). Ensure that this paperwork is filed.

Grand Knight

• Review the resources available on our Ceremonials webpage. You will find invitations to online exemplifications, everything needed to host an in person exemplification, and much more.
• Plan a Christmas event such as Consecration to the Holy Family or Keep Christ in Christmas. Invite all families of the parish to participate and identify new men that could strengthen your council.
• If your council’s tax-reporting year is July 1 through June 30, then November 15, 2023 is the deadline to submit the proper 2022 IRS Form 990 (U.S. Councils only). Review the memo from our Legal Department explaining the tax filing obligations of all councils, assemblies, and chapters in the United States.

Financial Secretary

• Consider sending the Individual Member Worksheet (#1728A) to council members for reporting their volunteer hours and charitable donations made during the year on behalf of your council. Responses will help you to prepare an accurate Annual Survey of Fraternal Activity (#1728) due January 31st.
