Sturgill Simpson and Bob Weir made guest appearances during Orebolo's Friday night set on the opening day of Dead Ahead festival last night. Orebolo is a Goose acoustic side project featuring Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, and Jeff Arevalo (who plays drums for Goose but is on stand-up bass in this band).

Orebolo played the first set of the weekend, starting with some Goose originals and covers before Simpson came on to play "Breakers Roar," a favorite from his 2016 masterpiece A Sailor's Guide to Earth. Later in the set, the band welcomed Weir for the Grateful Dead classic "Brokedown Palace."
