Hello Friends,

It’s been an out-of-this-world October at RTMC! As always, we continue to focus on our mission: Repairing Homes, Revitalizing Communities, Rebuilding Lives.

Our dedicated team, along with many amazing volunteers, are working hard to reach our goal to serve 180 families in need this year. To date, we have completed repairs for 51 families and have many more projects in process. Thanks to our outstanding team for their hard work!

This month we welcomed Sasha Agwah as our newest member of the team. She will be serving as our new AmeriCorps Project Coordinator. Sasha will be coordinating the repairs on our neighbors homes and supporting them through the project process. She is a wonderful addition to our team and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes during her term!

RTMC began the month with a successful golf tournament! The beautiful weather and our generous supporters made for a great day. Thank you to the presenting sponsor MH Mechanical and all of those who supported the RTMC mission. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

Meet Our Team
Meet Our Board

Welcome to the Team Sasha!

It is with great excitement and a warm heart that we welcome Sasha Agwah to our team as our newest AmeriCorps Project Coordinator. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering and is currently pursuing an MBA in International Business while also working on a certification in supply chain management. Sasha brings an incredible blend of talents, experience, and a passion for service to our organization, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have her on board. We are eager to see the projects you will lead and the lives you will impact during your service term. Welcome, Sasha!

Wells Fargo Updates Mental Health Recovery Home

Wells Fargo employees came out to provide exterior repairs and yardwork for Housing Unlimited Inc., one of our valued nonprofit partners that provides independent housing to adults in mental health recovery. The volunteers did such a beautiful job with the home. In conjunction with this project Rebuilding Together Montgomery County received a grant from Wells Fargo which will be used on some special projects coming up soon. Our heartfelt gratitude to the Wells Fargo employees that volunteered with us. Your commitment and support to our mission is greatly appreciated!

Rebuilding Together Summit 2023

Rebuilding Together hosted its annual summit in Indianapolis. Mat, Kim, and Gabby were in attendance getting to know their fellow affiliates and share common goals throughout the organization. This was also a great educational opportunity. Mat took a course and got certified in EPA Lead Renovation while Gabby took a course to become a Certified Aging in Place Specialist. It was a great time to connect with other affiliates and we can’t wait to take the insights from the summit and better serve our neighbors in Montgomery County!

Lowe's Grant Repairs Family Home

Thank you to Lowe's which played a vital role in restoring a 1939 family home in Dickerson that had deteriorated due to its age and was damaged by a fallen tree. The residence, owned by Ms. J., who has resided there since 1951, faced challenging circumstances. Over the past year, Ms. J. suffered two strokes, leading to frequent transitions between rehabilitation and home. Her daughter, who also lives in the home, became the primary caregiver for her mother, who lost the ability to speak and write. Moreover, due to the home's deteriorating condition, Ms. J. could not return there permanently.

With Lowe's support and the repairs they supported, there is hope that Ms. J. can return to her cherished family home on a full-time basis. This home has been in the family for 72 years, and assistance from Lowe's ensures it will remain a safe and healthy haven for years to come.
