Disappointment can lead to despair and loss of hope, but it can also be an opportunity for growth. This week in our Summer Baggage series, we will discuss how to handle disappointment in a way that draws us closer to God. By trusting in God's plan and timing, we can find strength and resilience in the face of unmet expectations.

This Sunday in our Contemporary services, we will be hearing from Wade Joye, who started his ministry here at Mt. Horeb over 14 years ago as our Student Leader and Worship Leader. Most recently Wade served as the Worship Pastor at Elevation Church until transitioning off of staff in late 2021 to serve churches across the country through his teaching and coaching ministry. During his time at Elevation, Wade oversaw the development of worship culture and staffing for over 20 locations, and spearheaded the growth and pastoring of Elevation Worship. Having preached on the main stage at Elevation on a regular basis, Wade's greatest passion is to teach and coach people to develop and maintain consistent spiritual rhythms and disciplines that cultivate a heart that is grounded in a personal devotion to Jesus. Click here to purchase Wade's latest book. We are so excited to have Wade back with us for our summer series!

Pastor Bill Bouknight will be preaching in the Sanctuary for the Traditional Worship services.

For those worshiping remotely, you're invited to watch our services online, on Facebook and YouTube.

On July 28 we will have Prayer and Healing services in the Auditorium and Sanctuary. This will be a time for you to come to stations set up across the rooms and voice your prayer requests to one of our prayer team and be prayed over. Make plans to attend one of these powerful services!

School Supply Drive

Our annual School Supply Drive starts this Sunday, July 21! Each year, we team up

with our local missions partners to provide kids all over our community with the tools

they need to succeed for the upcoming school year. You can find the list of items we

need and all the collection details here.

We ask that all items are new and unopened and that you pray over the children who will receive the supplies you bring in! You can bring your items to the Missions Center on your way into church July 21 and 28 or Monday-Friday, July 22-26 on the Missions Ministry Office porch. Our goal is to provide for 300-350 kids and we thank you for your generosity to this ministry year after year.

Worship Workshops

The Contemporary Worship Team is hosting Worship Workshops for rising 6th - 12th grade students interested in learning more about worship music, live production, and pastoral ministry. This is a great opportunity to learn more about one of these areas and a great way to develop and define skills. If you are a beginner, this is also an opportunity to be exposed to how these ministries work together to serve in a worship service setting. In the Pastoral Ministry track you can learn more about speaking and Bible Study methods. There are many worship tracks that you can choose from: Drums, Bass, Keys, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and Vocals. Our Production track will focus on audio, lighting, and live video production as these areas work together to support worship services. Worship Workshops will be July 29-31 from 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM. The deadline to sign up is July 21. Register here.
