Tree Removal at Bradfield

Bradfield Families,

During a maintenance review of the Bradfield Elementary grounds late last week, we learned that 11 Red Oak trees on our property are infected with boring insects that are causing the trees to die. With the assistance of a third-party expert, we have determined the best course of action is to remove the trees. The district is also working to schedule treatment for the remaining trees to help protect their health.

HPISD has contracted the services of Bare Roots Landscape Solutions to perform the tree removal services beginning Saturday, February 18. Work this weekend will focus on removing two large trees in the Bradfield Elementary field located on the east end of the property. The remaining trees will be removed during the next two to three weekends. Work will not take place when students are at school.

The district is heartbroken to lose the 11 trees. The affected trees are of various sizes and ages. We are in the process of discussing a plan of action to determine replacement options. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue in a timely and safe manner.
As always, we greatly appreciate you.
