SEPTEMBER

Awakening the Dreamer Symposium

Saturday, September 17th - 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Live, on-site at the UUCFM campus

SWFL RESET Center is proud to cohost this event in conjunction with the SWFL Pachamama Alliance. The "Awakening The Dreamer" Symposium is about waking up from the “dream of the modern world” that is destroying our planet and way of life. Awakening the Dreamer was created in response to an invitation from the Achuar people of the Ecuadorian Amazon to work in partnership to shift the dominant culture of consumption and alienation to one that honors and sustains all life.

Facilitated by SWFL Pachamama Alliance and SWFL RESET Center co-founders Joseph Bonasia, Gary Robbins, and Holley Rauen. We recommend this training for all our RESET friends and partners! The event will be held at the UUCFM campus. Tickets are FREE! LEARN MORE

RESET CONVERSATION:

"Can Reframing Climate Solutions Change the Picture?"

with Ana Pushkin Chevlin, via ZOOM

Tuesday, September 20th - 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Join us for an enlightening RESET CONVERSATION as Ana Pushkin Chevlin takes us on a journey of discovery and insights surrounding climate solutions. Scorching summer heat, prolonged drought, flooding rain, and sea level rise may motivate communities to reduce their vulnerability to climate impacts, but projects and actions that reduce heat-trapping gas emissions, the underlying driver of climate change, are not prioritized similarly. Ana’s presentation explores how evaluating protective climate actions through a natural hazards model focused on vulnerability can perpetuate this status quo. Expect a lively discussion on this topic! Attend via ZOOM, FREE!  LEARN MORE
