How to Get or Give Help for the Holidays

Springboro Community Assistance Center provides meals and gifts for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

If you need help for either holiday, you can provide your information during one of our shopping days, or email us at scacholidays@gmail.com.

We are ready to line up donors to adopt families. If you are able to help this year, please email us at scacholidays@gmail.com as soon as possible. Please indicate what size family you would like to adopt.

Dates to remember:

  • Nov. 13: Thanksgiving Meal Kit Distribution during regular hours.
  • Dec. 13: Gifts turned in by donors between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Dec. 19: Gift pick up between 3 and 4 p.m.
  • Dec. 20: Gift pick up between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Upcoming Shopping Dates

Springboro Community Assistance Center continues regular shopping hours in addition to the holiday assistance available for our neighbors.

Our choice pantry is open from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Upcoming shopping dates include Nov. 13 and 27 and Dec. 11.

In the new year, our hours stay the same and shopping dates include Jan. 8 and 22. As inclement weather becomes more possible, remember, if the schools are closed, we are closed too.

What to Know for Your First Visit

  1. We are located between Springboro High School and Springboro Junior High School behind the football field. We are located in the Educare Building on the third floor to the right when you get off the elevator.
  2. Take a number and have a seat to the right of the hallway.
  3. When it is your turn to shop, a volunteer will call your number.
  4. Come to the check in desk and provide your documentation.
  5. You will only receive food for the amount of people that you can provide documentation for within the home.
  6. Examples of documentation would be: an electric bill, a water will or a phone bill.
  7. Documentation not accepted: anything that is not a bill.
  8. You will then shop with a volunteer who will assist you the rest of the time.
IMPORTANT!! Proof of residency must be shown for all adult members of your household.

Summer Volunteers Appreciated

SCAC is grateful to have been chosen as Biggby’s Giving Thursday recipient for September.

We’re grateful for the donation of $715 as well as some much needed dry goods. But mostly we are grateful for Scott and Molly Bunch as well as their customers.

Our community never ceases to amaze us!

Food Drives Very Generous

You can help SCAC keep the food flowing in many different ways. If you shop at Kroger or Dorothy Lane Market, register your rewards cards so their Community Rewards and Good Neighbor Programs benefit SCAC.

These donations DO make a difference. Between May 1 and July 31, more than $700 made its way to SCAC thanks to 121 households who shop at Kroger with registered cards.

Go online to www.kroger.com or www.dorothylane.com or visit customer service. A percentage of your total will be donated to SCAC every time you shop.

Thank You for Your Generosity

Our community is so generous! We are grateful for every donation and food drive that supports our families.

We received $4,000 from the Springboro Oktoberfest celebration hosted by Springboro United Church of Christ.

Other recent donors have included:

  • The Point 937 Church
  • Daughters of the American Revolution

PayPal Allows Recurring Donations

Did you know: SCAC accepts donations via PayPal. Want to give regularly? Set up a recurring donation!

If you give from a bank account instead of a credit card, there are no fees! (We pay the fees which reduces your donation.) And it's secure!

Thanks to everyone who has already donated through PayPal and who set up recurring donations! We appreciate you!

If you prefer to send a check, you can mail it to Springboro Community Assistance Center, P.O. Box 1042, Springboro, Ohio 45066, or stop by with your donation during our distribution hours.
