Volunteers Needed

Come and help GVCO with the set up, collection, moving, donation sorting, storing, and clean up of new and gently used children’s items at the 4th Annual GVCO Caring Hands Cradles to Crayons Donation Drive!

Cradles to Crayons mission works to provide children aged 0-12 living in low-income situations with the resources needed to thrive, and GVCO Caring Hands is proud to be play a part in that.

The GVCO Caring Hands volunteering opportunity will take place at the new GVCO Community Center complex, 51 N. Bacton Hill Rd., Malvern. Please see the sign up times via the link and we will get together at the new big purple Cradles to Crayons Giving Hub at the site.

All of our donations are going to kids who are less privileged, so we encourage everyone to bring new or very slightly used items. Your donations go to support local children and funnel resources directly to the children who need it the most.

Challenger Gym

High School Student Volunteers

Volunteers in grades 9-12 will be needed for set up/clean up and to serve as Buddies for Challenger Gym on Wednesday evenings at General Wayne Elementary School from 6-7:45 on November 2, 9, 16, 30, December 7, 14; there is no program on November 23rd.

High school buddies will be trained and guided by the Challenger Program Director, Wendy Morris. The goal of the program is to have the same Buddy each week with each participating student. The strength of the program is consistency and relationship, so this will be a 6-week commitment.

Home of the Sparrow Winter White Out Event - November

We will be partnering with Home of the Sparrow to assist women facing homelessness to secure housing and achieve long-term stability.

GVCO Caring Hands Tent Sale - November

Once again we have received a significant donation Christmas holiday items from an online gift retailer and we will be hosting our Tent Sale at the GVCO Community Center complex for several weekends this fall. We will be looking for numerous volunteers to assist with this event.

"Good Neighbors" - Holiday Gift Wrapping

For many years, we have been wrapping hundreds of gifts and delivering them to several local senior centers during the holidays.

All players must be residents of the Great Valley School District. With limited space and fewer roster spots, we expect divisions to fill and close early.

This winter, GVBL expects to have over 650 families and 900 children ages 4 through 18 participating in our program. Complete and return the required shirt sponsorship form by October 24th.
